A lot of people haven't seen The Godfather Trilogy (myself included). Considering it's in like every top 100 list I've ever seen, that's a little surprising.

I've never seen Gandhi either.

(Payback is great - I love that movie!)

The movie I havent seen, that I would expect the "I Can't believe....." treatment from my friends, is Gandhi. But I cant really say that I have ever heard that phrase after I said I havent seen it.

Oh my where to start!! I've missed so many along the way that my ex always cringed at...especially the classics, pretty much haven't seen any old movies unless they were Shirley Temple ones and that was because he had a big thing for those. No John Wayne, no Gone With the Wind, no Wonderful Life, none of that for me.

Other more (sorta) recent stuff just to grab a few...none of the Godfather movies, A Few Good Men, Thelma & Louise, no Kevin Costner films (*with the exception of WaterWorld cause I had to see what cost so much money). I know there's a lot more that I'm missing but those are a few of the ones that people go HUH?? to when I say I haven't seen them.

It's funny, because I lived the first 28 years of my life in Buffalo, where nobody really gave a damn about this movie. I knew that it existed, but there was never this pressure of "Oh man, you HAVE to see it!". In the 10 months I've lived in Chicago, I've probably been chastised about it several dozen times. Who knew that these people took their beloved Blues Brothers so seriously?

If it helps, I *have* gone to see ACTUAL blues being played at a club.

No? That's not gonna cut it?

Sigh.

Don't bother...I watched it last night and it was horrible and a complete waste of Monica Bellucci's beauty and talent. Save your money and buy Malena on DVD and watch [i]that[/] again instead (like I did!).

I'll watch The Princess Bride when you watch Godfather I & II! (Forget III... it's blasphemous to the Godfather legacy)
Mosaik, are you reading my mind? I also despise Godfather III. It pisses me off that they only sell the Godfather films in one box set. Although I & II are among my all-time favorite films, I refuse to buy the set on principle. I will not allow Godfather III in my home!
