In the past didn't they have to complete the task in order to get the $$ for the pot? I thought they got a big green check if they "completed" and a red X if they did not complete it?
Okay I love FORT's casino, but I really am not very good. If anyone wants to donate their FORT $$ I would gladly accept http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forum....php?do=donate

This was a fairly good episode. I have a few criticisms though. I didn't like the execution when the new host was just picking the contestants on the screen. Something about the typing of the keys in the last seasons created suspense. I don't like the new green and red thumbprint screens either. Just use the old ones!

I was also getting frustrated with all of the commercials. It seems like they had one every four minutes.

I did however like the opening much better. It was very James Bond.

I couldn't stand Paul in this episode, but then again, it might just be because I'm a Boston fan. Nicole bugged me too with her diva personality.

I don't think Liz should be overlooked as the Mole right now. Sure she got her bag but she knew Marcie wouldn't have chosen her as one of the ones to get the money. She knew by getting it, it'd add nothing to the pot. And if she's the mole it was a way to put some suspicion on other people seeing as how the "old lady" got the bag and they didn't. I also thought she was a tad suspicious in the Crusoe game with the whole victrolla thing. Wasn't she the one who also knew the jeans weren't right and she didn't really stand up and insist it not be put on the table? Fishy..

My other pick right now is Mark. As a history teacher I think he'd be a little better at the Crusoe task. Sure, they only had a portion of the items found but some of the items they put on the table were just laughable. Blue jeans? A hand gun? Seriously?

I was thinking the same about Liz. The mole would not want anything to look suspicious. The history teacher is on my nerves. Very competitive.

As a non-Mole it would be to point them towards the people I LEAST suspect (in other words I'd be lying about who I suspected and making up bullcrap reasons), so those listeners would screw up on the Mole quiz.
I agree, that's a good tactic within the game. For me as a viewer, it just gets tedious for me to hear them all say the same thing along the lines of "He could be the mole!" Like it's creating fake drama.

the three appraisers (Mark the history teacher, Liz the 60 year old, and Kristen the tall blonde scientist) actually did really well in picking the right items for the Robinson Caruso challenge. They really only had the items that the scavengers brought them to work with. The two missing items that would have been right were the kettle and the tobacco tin, and the scavangers hadn't brought either of them to the appraisers. They didn't pick the jeans or the Victrolla over any of the correct items, because the correct items weren't in consideration.

Unless of course the scavengers couldn't find the tobacco and/or kettle because the appraisers really hid them - which I raised as a possibility for the tobacco tin in my weekly column (plug, plug), as it wasn't located by the camera crew when the host was describing which items should have been on the table.

The scavengers were bringing all sorts of stupid electronics and whatnot to the appraisers, but they didn't find 2 out of 5. The appraisers correctly located all 3 of the "right" items, not once but twice.

that still doesn't mean that Liz (or possibly Mark, and less likely in my opinion Kristen) is the Mole. I just don't think the appraisers took a dive unless they were actually hiding the winning items from the scavengers.

LG., that's what I thought about also. Not the possibility of the appraisers hiding the tin, but the fact that the appraisers did a great job finding what the items were. Out of all the items that were given to them by the scavengers, they could only submit three correct items, and they did submit those three items.

But like you said, that doesn't rule them out on being the mole. Though the three of them (Liz, Mark, and Kristen) aren't on the top of my list to being the mole, that certainly doesn't rule them out. Actually, I'm really thinking that Kristen isn't the mole. She's actually my pick to win the game (though it's just a complete guess, I'm not judging it on anything ).

And I did say in another thread about how Mark said he really needed the money for his family. If he was the mole, he would get paid to do his job. So yeah, there's that.

Probably the hardest role the mole would have been assigned in that task would be that of "appraiser" imo.
Did Nicole assign the tasks to the players? I forget--or were they producer assigned?

Nicole did, after she was voted as the "whiner" of the group.

I will have to go back and rewatch how that scene played out, then.
The appraiser role would definitely be harder for the mole to sabatage, than the other 2 jobs--timer and scavenger.

the mole could have tried to sabotage the Robinson Caruso challenger as an appraiser by advocating for the wrong items (which some folks were speculating that Liz was doing with the Victrolla - and then covering by saying it was Swiss Family Robinson). The tough part is that there were two other appraisers that the mole would have needed to have convinced with their wrong item. We didn't see that happen. We saw three appraisers correctly locate the 3 "right" items and then look through a beach full of wrong items, trying to find logical picks (which weren't available as the scavengers hadn't brought over the kettle or tobacco). I don't think the timekeepers took a dive on this challenge either, as they were both working hard. Paul tried to make it look like maybe he was at the end, but he didn't lie down on the beach until after the appriasers had their final 5 items on the table, they were just looking at them and confirming their choices. If any sabotage occurred in that challenge, it was most likely the scavengers not locating the kettle and tobacco, wandering aimlessly instead of really trying.
