Natasha's was supposedly wonderful but just needed a little more salt. It was obvious that Natasha's was better. To keep Krissi was blatantly unfair and showed favoritism or the fact that they are keeping her around for ratings.

We love Jesse and Luca! So glad they were the top dogs in the Paula Deen southern cook-off. I am rooting for Jesse!
I thought the noodle soup challenge clearly showed Natasha as having the worst. I agree Nathasha and Krissi were the 2 worst, but Natasha's broth as too sweet and not enough salt. It seemed as if the broth was the most important part of the soup, so a bad broth trumps overcooked noodles.

It was more than the noodles being overcooked. There were too many noodles, the protein was what was overcooked and the whole dish was out of balance.

But she really, really tried! And that's what's important!

As the challenge was beginning the chefs said the worst thing they could do to the broth was to make it too hot because it overtakes the taste of the entire dish. When tasting Krissi's they said it was too spicy, (along with the too many noodles, etc.), but they coddled her and set the bar lower for her, as per usual. That's what ticks me off most. Any other person in that room would get in huge trouble for those mistakes, but as Brooks said, she tried real hard, and that's what's important! Yeesh.

    Seriously, I don't think you're an a**hole... I was ticked, obviously.
I have lots of pet peeves, and Krissi embodies two of my worst: people who resort to violence or threats of whenever they perceive conflict; "Bri is the kind of person I used to beat up in highschool. And, those who are 'grown-up' (add, with children) and are still stuck with their high-school mentality.

A third pet peeve is the person who spoils one show by posting something in another thread. I hope I didn't go so far... I would have to come up with a nasty name or something to call myself for that one. And I might forget the asterisks and get into all kinds of trouble. heh.
No, I'm just teasing. I really do like Krissi, and I really did dislike Bri. Chacun à son goût.

Re Bear Grylls - my husband called that pair as the winners from the beginning. Even if you had spoiled (you didn't), I wouldn't have been surprised.

But didn't James use packaged puff pastry? I thought using pre-made stuff was a no-no. Not that James lost because of that...but it just seems like on many of the chef-y type shows, no one should use packaged ingredients so I wondered why it was ok.
I think the whole show is awful. We're not as stupid as they seem to think we are.
I love the premise of the show...but what TPTB do to it is horrible. Why can't it just be a fair contest?
They make it whatever they want it to be, including creating someone who's a villain (Krissy).
    It's all so scripted. dammit.

Packaged puff pastry was one of the mystery-box ingredients.

I knew puff pastry takes forever to make, but I wasn't sure exactly how long (it would never occur to me to try to make such a thing ) so I did a quick google search - it takes three days to make it from scratch. I think Natasha & Krissi should have put their baker's egos aside and just used the packaged stuff.
