So anticlimatic!
That's why I've been ranting for weeks about what a stupid concept this is. I mean, who in their right mind would go on this type of show? The whole premise is RIDICULOUS. The dad is crazy....having his daughters pick his mate? Puhlease.....what kind of relationship would he have had with Suzanne if they had picked her? Forcing himself to be with one woman when he "has certain feelings" (ahem!) for another.....it's insane. I feel badly for Suzanne, and then I have to remind myself, she put herself on this stupid show. So in the end, he picks the woman himself. What does it matter? They'll be broken up in a matter of weeks anyway.

I just can't understand how NBC ever got this show picked up. I guess in Hollywood it really is true. There is no such thing as bad publicity...it's still publicity. We're all talking about this show. Most of us are talking badly about it, but we're still talking about it. Obviously that's all the producers care about. *end rant*

I thought the way they broke the news to Suzanne was really crappy--They blatantly lied to the women by telling them that only one of them would be coming back to the house in a limo. So when Suzanne was brought back to the house, she naturally assumed that she had been chosen. At least on the Bachelor, when they do that, both candidates are aware that they have an equal chance of being shot down. Marty obviously didn't know beforehand--that crestfallen look on his Botoxed face--it fell as much as his paralyzed nerves will allow it--when Suzanne came out was like a neon sign. Then they continued that falsehood by giving her a frilly 5 minute speech before kicking her to the curb. That stunned look on her face spoke volumes, and I thought she held it together admirably. Had it been me, I would've heaved all over Marty's shiny tuxedo.

Yeah . . .here's my scenario: Marty and Stacy have been separated since the end of taping, so they still have the hots for one another. As soon as they do the round of talk shows, they'll go on a Caribbean trip and get it on every way til Tuesday. After they've gotten it out of their systems, ie, returned to his reality of delivering Fritos in Denver, they will realize that they have absolutely nothing in common as the basis for a marriage, and will split up. Personally I don't think Stacy will go through with a wedding--that reaction of hers last night looked more like "Oh, my God--what do I do NOW??' than "Oh, my God, I'm so happy!" If they do have a quickie wedding ceremony, Stacy will have fewer qualms about annulling the whole silly charade than Suzanne would've done. Heck, she may even find Marty's replacement while they are still on their Caribbean 'honeymoon'. Suzanne more likely wanted a real marriage, and would have been far unhappier in the long run with this Stepford bogus-husband than Stacy will.

So, the girls did as well as they could--they gave their arrested development-horndog father his immediate gratification & allowed Suzanne to keep her dignity in the long term. Having to dismantle a sham marriage would have hurt her a lot more than either Stacy or Marty . . .after a few months (if that long) they will return to their pre-show lives, and perhaps Suzanne will find a REAL man from her scads of admirers.

Best of luck to Suzanne. I don't give a hang what happens to our two lovebirds--they deserve each other.
I DEFEINTLY AGREE with you 100%. BEST OF LUCK to Suzanne. I didn't realize it before but that was really cruel to say only one of the women will return to the hotel and destory Suzanne like that. That was mean.

    Good luck Suzanne!

I'm so glad you fill in for me when I'm not here, roseskid!!
I think I said pretty much the same thing... A 40-something year old man should be MAN enough to find a woman for himself, and not let his kids do it for him! (How lazy can you get?! ) And what kind of woman would even want a man like that?!?! :phhht (NOT ME!!!)

I think the daughters made the right choice for their dad in that he preferred Stacy, although I'm not convinced that she's in it for the long haul.

I find it ridiculous that anyone can claim to be in love with someone after such a short time and when Stacy did state her feelings her comments never really seemed genuine to me.

Oh well, good luck to them.
If they can make it work and are happy then I'll be happy for them.
I'd like to see this show produce a relationship.

I remember last year when they did the same thing and we all thought how cruel it was. Maybe some of you missed it last year. Well, it's still cruel and it "makes" for good tv-so NBC probably thought it was a good idea. I still think Melanie would have been a better choice!
