Born and raised in Santa Cruz, blond haired, green-eyed Marisa Miller is the epitome of a California beauty. In fact, Marisa's big modeling break came when renowned photographer Mario Testino discovered her while surfing in California. Seeing Marisa in her "natural element" inspired Mario to shoot her for a surfing story in American Vogue.
While she did some local modeling growing up, Marisa never dreamed that it would lead to a career. It is this light-hearted and grounded nature that has given her the opportunity to work with many A-list fashion photographers, including Bruce Weber, Patrick Demarchelier, Antoine Verglas, Roxanne Lowit, Davis Factor, and Pamela Hanson, to name a few.
Marisa has been featured on countless covers for Shape, Self, and Fitness, and appears regularly in top fashion magazines like American Vogue, American & Italian Elle, American & British Glamour, American & British Marie Claire, Italian Vanity Fair, and American GQ. She has also appeared three years in a row (2002-2004) in the coveted swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. Marisa can currently be seen on the cover of the June 2004 issue of British Cosmopolitan.
In addition, Marisa works consistently with Victoria's Secret and J. Crew, and was also the star of Tommy Hilfiger's Intimates campaign, which reunited her with photographer Mario Testino.
Marisa describes her quick ascent in modeling as being "very surreal." She is based out of Santa Cruz, California so that she can be close to her family and the ocean, but she also resides in New York. Although Marisa enjoys all of the places she has traveled as a model, she remains an all-American girl at heart, stating surfing, old cars, and Rock & Roll as her favorite things. Marisa strives to get the most out of every opportunity and is looking forward to her extremely promising future.
