I was surprised Will won, most of his films bored me and I was tired of hearing about his kids. I was hoping for Adam, as I liked more of his stuff.

Since this failed so miserably, I doubt we'll get another season. It's a great concept, but I don't know how they screwed it up so bad. If (and that's a huge if) this show comes back, it needs major changes.
I wondered about the whole sit-down to reveal the winner and I think it was to simulate an awards show? That's the only thing I could figure out.

I was also hoping for an Adam win, and he was my top choice, but I am glad Will won over Jason because I could never figure out why people liked Jason all that much. There may have been one film of Jason's that I liked. Once Adam was told he didn't win then I was rooting for Will.

I thought the meeting between Speilberg and Will was sweet if not a little stilted. I heard quite a bit that Speilberg is a genuinely nice man and that little snippet of their meeting didn't make me rethink that at all. OT a bit, he was a great sport at the Oscar's too with Ellen.

Overall I liked the show but it would need major revamping if they were to do it again. I doubt highly that they will. One thing they should do is give the contestants a bit more time on the films as they go further into the series. Maybe time constraints prevent this but I would like to see even 30 seconds more added each time someone leaves. I also would have liked to have seen an original movie the last voting night, and a repeat with that would have been fine.

The premise had so much promise. I was so disappointed in the outcome. I wish it was better. I would have watched much more feverishly and even cared about the outcome

Re: On the Lot

The only good part of the final episode was the car ride after the announcement of the winner. Usually shows end with the announcement of the winner and some tacky glitter and confetti pouring from above. But "On The Lot" continued with the car ride. I thought that it will end with an interesting meeting with Spielberg. But he was awfully bad. Self-conscious. No spontaneity. He just recited a script with no expression. And the couple walked into the sunset. I wish they had at least been two hot guys walking into the sunset. Nope. Disappointment there too.

Coming to the winner itself, Will Bigham was only my second choice. Like many of you I was hoping Adam would win the prize. His films gave a feeling of completion. Which can only mean that he is a good storyteller. Will and Jason are good too but Adam is better. And as a person Adam was very normal in the way he talked and behaved. He did not constantly talk about supporting his wife and children like Will (whiner), nor did he cry and tell us a "coming from Kentucky..." story like Jason. The first thing Will said in the acceptance speech was his thanks to God. And the audience erupts in applause. Then he thanked his family. Ohhhh... such a family values guy! Give me a break. Will did not thank the fans who voted for him until after he got into the car.

Many of the eliminated contestants were back to attend the finale. But the camera did not bother to close in on them except for two or three to whom the host posed a question and the ones whose films were played. I think that every one of those contestants should have gotten at least 10 seconds of close-up and may be a chance to say something. I was dying to catch a glimpse of Kenny.

For the first time the host looked good wearing that red dress. The dress was a bit costumey. Still not bad.

"On The Lot" was a great concept. But the format was a disappointment. I agree with all of you there.

Re: On the Lot

Hey KennyLuv! I've enjoyed your participation in this thread.

Nope, not a Kenny sighting to be seen. I was looking too. Did you catch Jessica? She could not have looked more bitter if Steven Spielberg held a gun to her head and yelled, "Action!". She'd probably yell back, "I'm a Film Scool Graduate Director, damnit!...did you not see my brilliant green screen interpretation of a tree's murder?!".

I wish her well though, she does have an "out there" imagination. Her attitude on the finale may have had less to do with being a sore loser, and more to do with having to be in the same room with Carrie Fisher again.

So glad 'On The Lot' 's theme song was nominated for an Emmy!

I hope the show comes back, because it was a fascinating and highly enjoyable hour despite the format problems, which were numerous. Adriana did say the winner of "On The Lot 2007"...so I hope that means it will return next summer.

As for the finale, I was glad to see Will win, though Zach was the most talented of the three. His 'Dough: The Musical' was sublime. But he'll do just fine, as will Jason. I think Will won the hearts of many (including mine) right out of the gate with his 'Lucky Penny'. That's ironic, isn't it? Talk about a lucky penny!

Well, fellow On The Lot fans, I guess that's a wrap!

Re: On the Lot

The final bit between Spielberg and Will showed why people who are normally behind the camera should remain there.

Re: On the Lot

Thank you lopevian. I enjoyed your posts very much too. Your comment about Jessica's expression is funny. I did not catch Jessica. I was frantically looking "Where is Kenny?", "Where is Kenny?"... Jess did try something very different from the usual with that tree story. But it came off odd and weird. With time and experience she will get better. It was nice to see so many different kinds of talents and ideas among the contestants. I read somewhere that Kenny has gotten a music video deal with some band. My best wishes to him. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing him and his work again. And I hope to meet you in another thread that interests us, or the next season of "On The Lot".

I so agree with this...this show had so much possibility, but they blew it...It started the downhill spiral when the host was brought out, and then it continued to spin when they constantly changed the format...Too bad

Re: On the Lot

I really hope this show comes back for a second season. Can't find anything on the web about it...has anyone heard any buzz, or a blip?
