    8/1 Show Discussion **Spoilers**

    I know I am funnier than...

    ...at least a few of these people.

    Yay, the ape is the short bus driver!

    Glad to see the "heckle the others" portion will be back too. But these heckle pairings are SO not random.

    ============================== ==========

    Please keep all discussion of tonight's show in this thread only, until 1:00 AM ET.

    Thanks, and enjoy the show (at least as much as possible when the best people probably won't win tonight either...)

    Even I'm surprised I'm here. I mean a lot of these picks seemed SO lame to me.

    Still, this is a good "round" to actually see these people gain a personality.

    Hmm. Maybe not. Most of the hecklers aren't doing such a good job.

    Once again, I can't believe how little I understand the mind of the public at large. I don't know who I would have voted for, but it certainly wouldn't have been him.

    I think Lavelle is going to always get a certain amount of "he's biggest, so he must be the funniest" votes. The pointy head helps too. He's a guy many will look at and decide "well, he just LOOKS funny". Hemi Guy will get that too, to a lesser extent, and maybe also Deborah Giovanni (the whole "they look funny" thing). Oh, and also Matty Potter too, I suppose.

    Then again, Doug Benson may get the occasional "I saw him on TV already" vote, as will Hemi Guy.

    And I guess Dante gets some "oh, he did a voice of someone I knew" votes, even if those are predictable hackneyed impressions. People gravitate towards the familiar.

    Oh, I know, and that's one of the things I just don't get - why go with comfortable when there's something better available. But then again, I guess there really isn't better available on this show.

    Then again, people ALSO simultaneous gravitate to the unfamiliar at times too.

    A British accent? A pointy head? Etc.

    It's the people in the MIDDLE who get screwed. That's why Amy Whatshername will never win this, even if she's hilarious.
