    - GERRY DEE upon learning he was a finalist.

    Gerry Dee is a first generation Canadian whose family was
    all born in Glasgow, Scotland.

    He spent 9 years as a school teacher before making the |
    full-time switch to stand-up in 2003.

    Gerry had appeared on The Late Late Show, Comedy Central's
    “Live at Gotham” as well as season 4 of Last Comic Standing.
    He starred in the Canadian feature “Trailer Park Boys-The Movie”.

    He will be making his third appearance at the
    Montreal Just For Laughs Festival this year.

    Gerry is a former Collegiate Varsity hockey player and golfer. He is a frequent qualifier at both the US and Canadian Amateur Championships.

    Gerry and his wife Heather are expecting their first child later this summer.

    I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I found myself terribly bored by his act, at least what we've been shown of it.

    As a Canuck I should support him but I've just found him boring so far. Maybe Marybethp is right and the good stuff is waiting to be seen.

    I thought his set was the best last night.
    I liked his observations about children in class and he held my interest better than anyone.
    I really haven't enjoyed him up to this point, but I thought last night was the best I've seen him.

    I really enjoyed Gerry's sets the past few weeks, but this one part still has me laughing days later:

    "I don't know....I didn't see, I was dancing" imitating the girl that goes over and takes care of the upset drunk girl.

    Not all that funnly taken out of context but I laughed really hard at the time, and can still hear the way he said it in my head, making me laugh all over again.

    Gerry Dee got ripped off... he was BY FAR the funniest one in the whole competition!!! He should have won!! Ah well, at least he got the world wide exposure he diserves!!
