I miss all the comics from last season. They were actually funny and had great personalities. I'm looking forward to seeing them again. This second season of LCS has been missing something............I think it's called comedy!!!!

    revamp the format

If LCS is to last more than these two seasons, I think NBC needs to seriously rethink the whole "Big Brother" living in the house thing. It's really NOT working -- entertainment-wise. I mean, the excuse they used for the screwy judging was that the network was also casting silent votes in order to load the house with more interesting characters. Well, guess what? That was a disaster!

If you are gonna have cameras following comedians around when they're not onstage, at least show them going to a restaurant together and riffing off one another. Or go to a grocery store and play with the food and the customers. Or sitting around talking about current events. Stuff like that.

But taking a guy out of the one-bedroom closet where he lives in NY and forcing him to share a room with another guy in a porn palace in LA and then watching the paranoid comics scheming and being distinctly UNfunny just turns me off. Too much bitterness. The opposite of comedy ... it's "schmomedy"!

I'd also like to see them working on their act ... writing new material, re-writing, trying it out on each other (or strangers). Let the comedians be comedians. And show MORE of their sets ONSTAGE!!

    Just my thoughts ...

I totally agree with you on this. This format does not work for me. Last year Dave, Rich, Cory, and Ralphie tried to make it funny. I don't see the comics this year even trying.

Thanks for posting Ralphie I think the comedians from the first season definitely have the edge. From what I've seen, most of them are more entertaining then the second season comedians(IMO) I like some of the comedians this season Alonzo, John and Todd are my favs, I like Kathleen and Gary's pretty good. I just think if they were up against people like Dave, Rich, Ralphie or Cory they might not do as well. Ralphie and Dave seem to have a lot of solid material, so it's not likely that viewers will get tired of their jokes, much like they have with Ant and Tammy. Also, last season, there seemed to be more chemistry between the comedians, so the show was more entertaining. It made me like the comedians better. This season, it's a lot of drama, and very few entertaining things have happened in the house, this makes the comedians(IMO) seem a little less exciting.

The advantage goes to fresh material...

With this year's format going from six comics, narrowing down to three comics, narrowing down to one comic...(as opposed to last year when the top five had a couple of months to work on their ONE finals set)...there will be a lot of burnt material for this year's comics.

(This format might have killed Dat's chances last year.)

After we see LCS2 finalists try to win this competition with their A material two weeks in a row...to then see them go head to head versus performers who we haven't seen perform in an entire year...the edge has to go to LCS1 performers.

doesn't seem fair....especially when a lot of the home viewers will not vote for people just because they use material more than once....
lcs1 contestants do have the advantage of having a year to come up with new material (though i doubt dat phan has bothered) but the lcs2 contestants are more established and should have an hour's worth of A-material over the years they have been doing comedy. i know john heffron has 2 cds out, so he must have more old material we haven't seen

Oh Thank you Jesus! My pathetic Dave Mordal fantasies will have an outlet. Vos is going to be in town, and darnit, I'll be on vacation (I know that might sound odd but trust me, going home to visit alcoholic falling down dad isn't always a good time.)

To see Dave and Rich Vos back together ...that is good enough for me, lol. They cracked me up in season 1.

Good to hear that Dave will be participating. I'm a bit surprised he'd sell his soul to NBC after the fiasco of them censoring his blogs on the official site. Guess everyone has their price! In this case, the opportunity to win $250k...can't blame ya, Dave.

I was shocked as well to hear he will be participating but hey it makes me happy, lol.

I was mad when they just made Dave's section on the main site just disappear like that.
