I really like John - he's right up my alley! I can relate to the feeling old at 30... I loved his bit about stompin' around work all I-wanna-go-home!

I've said I think Gary is going all the way, both to the final five and to win it all, partially based on what was said in some spoiler posts and based on what I know about "general audiences" vs us "die hard" fans. But after seeing a rerun of last nights episode, John may give him a run for his money. His breaking down after beating Bonnie could really help John with the "soccer mom" vote. He did take the brunt of the "coalition" and his telling them off also helped. He's either gonna just barely beat Gary or come in second, depending on how he comes off in the next few episodes.
And what would that sound like DAG?

I think Gary and John could both rack up some sympathy votes after tonight if they are in the Final 5. I think John is funnier. He is really growing on me, and was great at the roast.

He's still one of the few I'm rooting for at this point

Yeah, John is a younger, less radical, less funny Bobcat Goldwaith. John Belushi: Bobcat :: Jim Belushi : X, then mated with a loaf of Wonder Bread = Heffron. Heffron can star in Police Academy 486: How their Grandchildren selflessly cared for them in the Nursing Home.

I'm never been much into stand-up, but John caught my attention from his very first joke in his audition. He's just so relatable. Even with his stand against the alliance and his self-proclaimed "Lone Wolf" status, I think he's well-liked and respected in the house and isn't going to run into too much trouble until perhaps a little later on.

And yeah, I'm crushing on him a bit too. Glad I'm not the only one. ^_^

Generally when I read your (very well-written) posts, AE, I find myself agreeing with most of what you say (I'm not as Anti-Ant, but otherwise, I usually agree with what you're saying.)

This time, however, I really kind of hope you're wrong. Despite the spoilers, we do have a say in the final vote (ostensibly, anyway), and for some reason I won't be happy if Gary wins the whole thing. I think his career is going places whether or not he "wins" LCS. He will probably end up in movies (I think he'd be PERFECT for light romantic comedies.)

Personally, I would much prefer "Heff" (the CUTE one; not the anemic walking ad for Viagra one), JayLo (the Ice Man, not the Ice Woman) or Mr. Class Act (Alonzo) to be the LCS.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

I too like John. For me though, the voice and good looks look are quintessentially that of David Eigenberg (of Sex and the City Fame)

I am glad he finally seemed to get out of his depression that he has been in and started to be the funny guy I know he can be. I feel that he was a close second to Alanzo at the roast and that he was really funny.
I feel that if both Gary and John make it to the final 5, it will be a compitition between the two of them. While John has stronger material, people might vote for Gary if he gets picked on too much by the alliance. Not being in an alliance is going to help them in the end because I don't think that the voters like when comedians form alliances and conspire together to vote off who they don't like. This can especially backfire when you have weak comic like Ant in the mix.

Thanks, PIKATSSO. Please don't let that be sarcasm.
Now when you say, "we have a say in the final vote" do you me WE who are in this forum, or WE of the entire home viewing/voting audience. Cause if it's just us on the forum, it ain't enough to change the outcome. Case in point, who won last year.

At the end of the day it will be a popularity contest as much as a comedy contest. With some exceptions. Remember last year they really picked on Dat in the house. Granted this is standard Comic behavior and while Dat not hitting back was seen as weak by other comics, by the average viewer it was seen as mature and the comics were seen as cruel. But remember, Dat did win back to back challenges. The second time when all the LOSERS came back and picked Dat to go again. I'm still pissed off by that. Once he won the second head-to-head, I knew Dat would go all the way. I didn't vote, but if I had it would have been for Dat just out of spite.

Granted Heff is "cute", but Gary has already been described as "gorgeous" more than once. Alonzo, talented as he is, no way any white men in the audience are gonna vote for a big , bald, black guy who brags about how much bigger his dick is than theirs is. Ain't gonna happen. He'll do 3rd at best if he makes it to the final 5.

And though Jay London is a comic genius, it's in the vein of Andy Kaufman. Die hard comedy fans will get it as well as comics, but the average viewer will be split 50/50. Half will like it, half won't. So now it's just a question of what bizzare disease he's gonna die from in a few years and who will play him in the Milos Forman biopic.
And what would that sound like DAG?
