Well, thank God Shazzer's recapping. Still, I'm sad I missed this.

You didn't miss much. Most of the standup wasn't that funny, especially compared to last years. The real fun should begin, now that they are in the house together. We shall see.

Ant may have made it because of his connections, but I don't think your assertion holds any water. If it's true, then why didn't they have to have a gay guy in the house last season? Has there some new and obscure law been passed that I don't know about?

There was another guy who many of us noticed a bit earlier in the competition who was gay, who seemed much funnier than Ant.

The producers deserve tons of flack--some for corruption, some for bad managment of the whole "voting" situation and false advertising, but this is one they might not totally deserve.

Oh, I think it's probable that the house is as it is partially due to intentional diversity. But they had other options to fill that particular "diversity" slot. In the end, Ant went in because he's got friends. Friends who will make money if he becomes a star.
