BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - It's time for class clowns to prove themselves.
NBC's starting the search for comedians to be players in its new reality show, "Last Comic Standing: The Search for the Funniest Person in America."
The first auditions are Dec. 15 in Chicago at "Blue Chicago." They'll be in seven cities total, ending in January.
The 10 finalists will then live together in a house and compete for the ultimate prize — a contract with the Peacock network.
Comedian Jay Mohr will play host and producer of "Last Comic Standing." In August, ESPN pulled the plug "Mohr Sports." Mohr, who infused the show with salacious content, was recruited by Disney's ESPN from Fox Sports Net.
He later co-starred in the comedies "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" and "Simone."
Here's the rest of the audition schedule: Dec. 18 in St. Louis; Jan. 5 in Atlanta; Jan. 8 in Houston; Jan. 12 in San Francisco; Jan. 16 in New York; and Jan. 23 in Los Angeles.
