Yes lets hope it turns out better than last year...

I wonder how that production deal with NBC is going for Dhat Phan?

Well, aside from that career making appearance on "Good Mornng Miami" where he was credited as 'Man in background #3 holding coffee pot' :rolleyes

    Dave Mordal should have won.

In a way, I suppose as bad as Dat winning was, things might have been even worse if Ralphie did. People would have been screaming that the contest was "fixed"--athough clearly that wouldn't have been possible for the final stage, only the ones leading up to it.

Of course this year the producers are courting even more trouble with the behavior Drew Carey and Brett Butler have accused them of.

You know, watching the show last night, it struck me that there were a lot of comics whose style was very similar. So while they were funny, it was more like variations on a theme. Kind of like candlelight white, and eggshell white.
If, for just a moment we could give the producers the benefit of the doubt - maybe they wanted more variety of styles so that each comic would stand out more as an individual, this would increase rooting and everybody involved would make more money. HEck, even Carey and Butler got some much needed publicity out of it!
I'm hoping for an awesomely funny show.

I think a few people from last year wasn't that funny. The black guy who lost to Dat, the bald guy with a cowboy hat, and Vos I do not find funny. I wanted Dat to challenge Vos but he changed his mind and went for Dave instead. I just thought that if Dat wanted a real challenge, he could have gone against the most veteran of them all but he chickened out. He won it all anyway.
