Krom,
I ain't mad at ya. I was just wondering about the whole Dunkleman thing since I've seen him slammed all over the net and it's just strange to me since I know him.
Regards,
Sean Kent
Yeah have to wonder why Dunkleman got crapped on and Seacrest(sp?) survived and became everyones favorite. I find them both annoying
(me ducking for cover)

Anyway I don't want to get to a touchy subject but someone must ask. Sean, did you catch Tough Crowd and how do you feel about them ragging on ya? I probably know your answer based off your interviews but since you are here....

If any of you have ever put together a large entertainment event (and no, I'm not including weddings in this group), you know that it can be very difficult - logistics and timing can be a B***H. Maybe Ralphie was in the planning stages and didn't have anything concrete to approach Sean with yet. Anyway, I like to think everyone has a heart of gold, until they prove otherwise...

I thought “Wait a minute, he doesn’t like me?” The twelve hours thing, where we were stuck in a room? The reason Ralphie got upset? He thought according to the contract we were owed an $8,500 lump sum talent payment, which we were not. He was saying “My light bill’s going to get shut off. We need to walk. We need some solidarity.” Had he been right I absolutely would have been with him, but reading the contract and having my manager read the contract, I wasn’t going to walk away for something I didn’t believe in. The other comics had their own reasons for saying they wanted to stay or go – it had nothing to do with being an open, middle, or headliner. As far as not being able to eat, there was a cafeteria twenty feet away where we could get anything we wanted to eat for free. The reason they kept us there was that they were still trying to get the house lit, so there was a delay, but it wasn’t twelve hours. I never said “No, I worked hard, this is my big chance, I’m not leaving.” I just said “I don’t agree with you.” We didn’t have them over a barrel, if Ralphie had walked they would have taken the next alternate.

This is exactly the point I made in the Ralphie thread. I've been to NBC many times - it's IMPOSSIBLE that they would not be able to get anything to eat.

Exactly the other point I made. You don't bash somebody like that so viciously if you are concerned about them- and you don't turn around and offer a benefit if that is what you really think of them unless there is some other motive behind it. Someone said that it's good to give Ralphie the benefit of the doubt because you can't prove it's not true but if Ralphie has manipulated the truth about the NBC ordeal, then there is no reason to believe he would not do the same about this. It seems to come easy to him, in any case. I'm not trying to get anyone to dislike Ralphie, but I think we should trust Sean about what he is saying because it rings more true than the other. I just hope Ralphie realizes one day that he doesn't have to belittle other people to get respect for himself because he's funny and he should concentrate on that instead.

I think Sean gets my respect because it has taken alot of guts to get out here and try to get his side of the story to people when he knows trying to do that wouldn't be easy, especially with the popularity of the comics who have said rather unpleasant things about him. It's that attitude that will also help him win in his battle with cancer. Good for him and I wish him only the best.

Actually, I know ANT and it's good to hear so many people talk so positively about him- he's a good guy.

You know, I've heard so many good things about Ant since the show aired. It makes me wonder if they were planning on casting him as the heavy if he made it into the house given the way he was shown during the first two episodes.

What has been his response to the way he was shown?

Great interview. Thanks, Wayner.

What an eye-opener!
