| Re: Show discussion thread 9/26 I read about it on another site. Instead, Mr. Hyde has charged, the week-long videotaped makeover attempt left the business in its “absolute worst financial condition” in years, according to a $29 million lawsuit filed in June against Mr. Ramsay and the show’s producers. Here is a link to an article in the New York Observer from back in July: Midtown Kitchen Nightmare | The New York Observer |

| Re: Show discussion thread 9/26 Finally got to catch this show tonight, for the first time. I don't even have the vaguest clue of where to begin. Roaches? THREE on-site managers, but nothing's getting done? Rotten food in the kitchen that's being prepared and sent out to the floor for the customers to eat? Flies? Poor/nonexistant service? At least (that I remember now) TWO different menus, but the chefs in the kitchen can't make dishes from both? Ordering something veggie and the dish comes to the table with meat in it? WTF? What I can't figure out is . . . How were these people not closed down and/or arrested for being a health hazard LOOOOOONG ago? Please excuse me if this was brought up anwhere else in this topic, but, does this show kind of remind anybody of "How Clean is Your House?", only set in a restaurant? My skin crawled when I watched that show and it was doing a repeat performance tonight. BELIEVE me. As for Martin . . . Yup, Ramsay was tough on him, and nope, I don't blame Ramsay for being so. Matter of fact, Gordo --- IMHO --- could've easily dialed it up a notch or two, and I'dve been cheering him on. I mean, COME ON . . . lying down in your workplace (and a RESTAURANT, at that!) while another employee sits and strokes your hair? In full view of any and everybody, and obviously not giving a damn who's looking or what impression they'll get from that? Being on the phone --- most likely on a personal call that doesn't seem to be an emergency --- while a dinner service is in full swing? Had it been me, if I'd walked in and seen either of those moves, after having determined just WHO this guy was and what it was that he did in the place (ESPECIALLY after finding out he was one of the managers!) I'dve probably canned his ass right on the spot and not thought twice about it. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I wonder what in the world they're going to come up with next, on this show.

| Re: Show discussion thread 9/26 All I know is that here in the Washington DC Metro area that violations are posted in the newspaper and there are usually 6 to 12 a day so someone is on the job, at least in Virginia, Maryland and DC.

| Re: Show discussion thread 9/26 I, too, would like to see the US version more like the UK version. I did see a repeat on BBC America and then went to look up the restaurant and it was no longer open. Probably too little too late. |

| Re: Show discussion thread 9/26 Martin Hyde IMO is a poor excuse of a manager, and I think he got so worked up because he knows he's a dipsh*t and got called on it. I hope he loses the lawsuit. |
