Three out of the four kids from Illinois brought home a gold star!

At the other end of the scale, Georgia, which sent the largest number to Bonanza City, only managed one gold star out of its seven kids.

I finally watched the whole episode. I had forgotten that Sophia already received a star and although she definitely deserved the higher prize, I do think another child should have gotten the star instead of the same person getting two. Laurel definitely should have gotten one, imo.

I think it was terrible the way the yellow district girls treated Emilee (sp?) saying they didn't want her in their bunk on the last night. I can almost understand their reasoning if that's all there was to it but I think it was more a case of "cool kids" don't want "uncool kid" in their bunk. But that's the way girls can be unfortunately.

Sophia's mom looked more like her sister. And just seeing all the kids hug and cry with their parents was enough to make me tear up too. I'd love to know how they are all doing now and I suspect we'll see several of them in commercials, tv shows, maybe even movies.

but i think laurel got one already too ... after she was off the council.

Yes she did and that was Morgan's second star also which I have absolutely no problem with. I'm glad for Migle (SP?) although she is an actress like Taylor she turned out to embrace the experience instead of being a self entitled drama causing little starlet the producers were probably hoping for.

I believe that it was stipulated the first 2 $50,000 stars had to go to previous winners, and the third star could go to anyone the council deemed fit.

I was pleased with the kids they chose for the 3 final stars, and very happy they gave Zach the last $20,000 star.

I got a little teary when Sophia got her $50,000 star.

I didn't catch that about the $50k stars having to go to previous winners. So now it makes more sense. I'm glad Zach got his star too.
