She'd have had to be out of her mind to go along with any such insanity based on the strength of her existing team.

There must be some rather effective supervision behing the scenes, otherwise as brain dead as many of these kids appear to be there would have been some of the horrendous injuries I'd been expecting in and around the kitchen and other potential death traps.

To better the show I still believe they need to strongly revamp that gold star or eliminate it altogether. As it stands, all one has to do is MINIMALLY do better work than the rest of the kids, most of whom aid the winner by being lazy slaggards by nature. They oughn't to have someone receive a reward for doing what they ought to be doing to begin with. They also, in my opinion, should not reward someone for comforting a whiner into sticking around rather than going home. Someone has a bad moment, thats one thing. Going into full self pitying whiner mode is another. Leave them be and let them leave rather than wasting time bucking them up artificially until the next episode.

Hunter in my view did NOT deserve a gold star as much as I might appreciate his work ethic. He's just being himself. In order to receive a reward, I believe the recipient ought to be doing something above and beyond what would otherwise be expected from them. In other words, no automatic reward for being a good worker if your baseline in being a good worker to begin with. No rewarding those who step up the pace after having previously acted like an ass like Gregg.

No more designed participant like Gregg period. He didn't just happen into the show, they chose Mr. Attitude for who he was, just like little princess Taylor.
One thing to remember, though - this is television. If all the kids just do exactly as they're supposed to and get along perfectly from day to day, then there's no show. Someone has to be an agitator. Every reality show casts the participants to create conflict. One move that I sense the producers made that didn't work this year was Greg vs. Blaine - the farm boy vs. the surfer. Too bad for the producers, they got along.

I do think the council should have the option to give the gold star to no one. There are some weeks where apparently there is no one really deserving. I was worried they were going to give it to Taylor this week just because at long last and after the council carried through on their threat of withholding something from her that she really wanted she finally decided to pull her weight.

I was fearing the same thing would occur. It's been proven you really don't need to put out too much in reality to receive one of those stars, something which I'll return to ragging on Greg to illustrate.

He's like the way I think of the aggressive old Soviets, getting frisky and taking two steps forward before someone took note dramatically enough for them to take one step back. A net gain to the Reds.

Or maybe its the reverse and Greg likes a two step back-one forward approach. Whichever, he began by acting like a louse, minimally cleaned up his act enough to receive his golden bounty, and almost immediately reverts to acting the bullying creep.

I will say though, it appears to me that he's acting out for the camera more than anything else. He and Blaine should have been immediately impeached over their sneaky snake listening post at Greenville, and DK should have joined them on the ousted sideline for wholeheartedly buying into their midstreet dramatics.

On DK, I'll give him points for telling the host adult he hated him (twice I believe), and sounding like he was serious while saying it.

Did he seriously do that? That seems out of character for DK

Yes, he did. I can't swear to recollection of the actual word 'hate', though I believe he did use it at least the first time. This took place during the recent challenge involving so-called pies, as I recall. Whatever his actual phrasing, the delivered tone was clearly negative.

He didn't mean it though. He said it negatively but they both laughed it off. The host knew he was joking too. There's pictures on DK's myspace of him and the host so obviously he doesn't HATE him.

Don't hire actors. See Independent Movie Database and it turns out Taylor has been acting all along. I can see how she might not want to do chores because she's not a part of the process the way the non-actor kids are. Her motivation is different - and not line with the mission of the show.

this show is almost over but the biggest improvement would have been to bring Jimmy back and put him on the blue team with Greg. Then sit back and watch what happens

I thought they had to be actors when they had the "talent" show. Too many with good talents for it to be just "random" kids.

Re: Suggestions to improve the show?

The kids were very talented.. but that doesn't mean actors... It seems that kids take music lessons, voice lessons, and so many extra curricular things it amazes me... but that doesn't mean they are professional actors

Re: Suggestions to improve the show?

None of the kids at that talent show seemed extraordinarily talented to me. Some just appeared have had more practice time than others.
