I like him. He just seems really passionate about it, and thats why he gets frusterated easy. I think he makes a good leader, he just needs to take a few breaths to calm down.

I dont think he makes a really good leader. To me, he doesn't really solve any of the problems going around.

I think Mike isnt being given a fair break. He is trying to act, in my opinion, like he THINKS an adult in this situation would act. He seems to me to be a genuine kid who is intelligent and compassionate. And, he did try to help at the beginning of the show, by pulling the wagon, when another child pushed him out of the way.

Some of these kids are going to rub each other the wrong way. They are kids and that is what kids do. Check out any elementary, middle, or high school in America. If they were all getting along all of the time, I would know how scripted it really was.

He wasn't trying to help when that kid pushed him out of the way. Greg was chastising him for not helping and when Mike proved he could barely move the wagon, Greg asked him to move so he could finish pulling it.

That said, I like Mike. I just think he's trying too hard. I also appreciate that his favorite books fall into his age category rather than some of the other kids. It makes me feel less inadequate.

I try not to criticize kids on reality forums but Mike was NOT being helpful, nor did the other boy push him out of the way.

Is he being a good leader? No. Is he being a normal kid? Yes.

I'm sure as a boy scout he has experience that will be valuable to the group, but thus far, he has behaved less than modestly, generously, helpfully and calmly.

I give him the benefit of the doubt as he is a child and editing can be cruel. I hope his good qualities will come out with the rest of the show.

    Re: Mike

Mike is great in certain situations. Mostly when it comes to challenges. He seems to step up and take charge.

But in interactions with others he seems to be a real jerk. If you bow down to him he'll treat you well if you don't accept his total authority you're put on a bad list. Greg tried to help him during their first meeting and instead of accepting it he jumped down his throat. Greg later went to clear things up with Mike but Mike clearly still holds a grudge against him.
