Re: Jared if that's really how he is, then i feel somewhat sorry for him, knowing how cruel kids can be ... he just seems to me to be the kid that everyone picks on because he's 'different'. i hope that being on tv increases his "cool" factor a bit with his peers. ![]()

Re: Jared A lot of these kids seem extremely verbal and well read/well traveled. Not a random collection at all. Of course the producers are looking for good TV so they don't want supershy kids, but a large percentage of these kids seem to come from the upper end of the bell curve on several measures. So hopefully even the most geeky of them will feel at home...no making fun of people in glasses, with long hair, etc., since there are so many.

Re: Jared This kid is my hands-down favorite part of the whole show. Every time he opens his mouth I crack up! Even when it's serious....lol....I think it's his manner of speaking. "I think that the environment, is a lot of times a sorry place...." I also love his sense of "style"! I can't wait to see what outfit he's wearing each week. This kid may indeed be one of those kids who get picked on because he's a little different, but I get the distinct impression that even if he is one of those kids - it doesn't bother him one doodley-squat. He'll be fine, and probably turn out to be a David Suzuki.

He gave my favorite line of the whole show thus far - I don't remember it word for word (if someone does, I'd love to get it actually), but it was how the downfall of civilization occurred when the arts were outlawed....or something like that. Hysterical (and sadly true!). galateasca, if you know this kid, do you know if these kids are primarily child actors? How did they find out about the show, and then how were they selected? | |

Re: Jared We watched this show as a family and the Jared moments were our absolute favorites! My 14 yr. old just loved Jared's moments on-screen just to see what he was going to say. He's a hoot.
