I think "winner" is pretty loosely used, right?

Actually, I'd call the first set of eliminated ladies the winners. They get time in France without the headaches.

John! I hope you are right! Unless the real joke is that it is the "winning" woman and not Joe who gets $1M!! (Maybe both get it though... )

How can a construction worker not make more than nine-fifty?
Hasn't he done work as a model? I think they're really trying to play up this average Joe image a bit much. And where I come from, construction pays pretty well. If he only earned $19K, he couldn't have been working full time.

    Exactly Jodaar!

And I think he's from VA Beach which pays much more than Kansas does.

John the ads keep saying a Construction Worker from LA, so I think you're right, he's from VA Beach (nice place to visit, wouldn't wanna live there), but resides in LA.

According to the Smoking Gun thing, he currently resides in Capistrano Beach, CA.

Oh, and he was driving a 2001 Ford truck, and I wonder how he can afford that?

Hmmm, perhaps he doesn't make much now but he might have some stashed from his modelling days, depending on how successful he was.
