$6-7K per year working at a grocery store in a small village, I buy. Life expenses there are probably much lower, so is the standard of living. But you can find remote unattractive areas like that anywhere in the states. And they are usually a lot scarier...

One more thing, all this Eastern European stuff come from the fact that there are girls from Prague (Czech republic) on the show, right?!? Have you guys ever been there? The city is at least as fancy as Paris, people are pretty snobish as well (which I totally dislike btw). this is just to let you know that it doesn't really fit in your poor village image thing. yeah sure, you'll find those there as well, but now I'm starting to go in circles and quote some stuff some guys already said...
