6/30: Juice Newton
From the official site:
As a teenager growing up in Virginia Beach, Judy Kay Newton's mom gave her a guitar, and it wasn't long before she was sneaking out to play at local clubs. The call of music eventually brought her to Northern California where she formed the country-influenced Silver Spur with friend Otha Young.
After moving the band to Los Angeles, they were quickly signed by RCA, but their two releases failed to catch on. Capitol Records took up their contract, but their third release also failed to get much attention. Still under contract to Capitol, Juice went to work in the studio. With the help of Otha, she recorded her first solo album, which contained her breakthrough hits "Queen of Hearts" and "Angel of the Morning."
Juice's emotional melodies and evocative vocals made her a favorite with pop and country fans alike, and her debut album eventually went platinum. Her following albums featured a more country slant and yielded a number of additional hits. In the 90s, Juice decided to focus more on touring, but in 1998 she released "The Trouble with Angels," her first album in many years. Today, when not performing, Juice spends her time on horseback and with her family in San Diego.
I wish she was singing Angel of the Morning, but I believe it'll be Queen of Hearts :(
I agree with you...I wished it would be "Angel of the Morning"
