Stacey Q..."Two of hearts, two hearts that beat as one....two of hearts, I need you I need you....two of hearts"

okay, I have to say I have NO IDEA where that came from, it just popped into my head and I have a terrible feeling its going to be there ALL NIGHT!

Or Samantha Fox...would LOVE to see how she aged, if at all. Of course, that would just remind me of every boy I ever knew in high school having that poster of her wrapped in the fishing net up in his locker....

For a one hit wonder nomination.. I HAVE to say, Men Without Hats, "Safety Dance"!! I absolutely loved that song!

    I could go on and on naming those oldie but goodies. Here's a few;

    Clash - "Rock The Casbah"
    Erasure - "Oh Lamour"
Berlin - "Take My Breath Away"
Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" (They have formed another band that's called Babble in which I have that CD also, it's not really "known", but I absolutely love it!
Bow Wow - "I Want Candy"
    Falco - "Rock Me Amadeus"
Dead or Alive - "You Spin Me Right Round Baby"
    Gary Numan - "Cars"
    A-ha - "Take On Me"
Talking Heads - "Road to Nowhere"
Josie Cotton "Johnny Are You Queer" **Totally one hit, and I LOVE it!!

    It doesn't end....

Who I'd go NUTS to see as host of this show, is Dr Demento!! Anyone remember hanging out near the radio listening to him endlessly?? LVED Dr. Demento!!!
One of my ultimate favorite songs that I gleened from those olden days of Dementia...was... Julie Brown - "Homecoming Queen's got a gun" The best song EVER written. I'd pay money to hear that song right now.

    Teaser;
Debbie's smiling and waving her gun
Picking off cheerleaders one by one
Oh Buffie's pompom just blew to bits
Oh no, Mitzie's head just did the splits
God, my best friend's on a shooting spree
Stop it, Debbie, you're embarrassing me
How could you do what you just did
Are you having a really bad period

All things beautiful do not have to be full of color to be noticed; in
life that which is unnoticed has the most power.

I like most of your choices (except Peaches and Herb - saw them the other day on PBS - not exciting). I'd love love love to see Heart (Ann/Nancy Wilson), Foreigner (at least Lou Gramm solo), Blondie, I still like Paul McCartney.

But I think the organizers are not interested in the superstars from yesteryears; they are bringing the "one-hit wonders" and "also-rans", to satisfy Gen X-er's curiosity about what happened to these people since then. Sort of a fast forward into the future of what today's younger stars will look like in 20 years. Case in point: Britney Spears + 20 years = Tiffany!

"Do You Dream in Color?" - Bill Nelson (I think)

ITA Bow Wow Wow! The remake of that song was awful.

And someone mentioned Adam Ant - that's another good one.

I'd also throw in Psychedelic Furs, except they'd be stuck doing "Pretty in Pink," which is lame compared to "Love My Way."

I still would LOVE to see Madness. I wonder whatever happened to them? (I guess I could google themů)

Robert Palmer - complete with his clone women in short skirts.
Peter Gabriel - he always had such weird music videos but I loved his songs.

And a few true one-hit wonders:
Escape Club - Wild Wild West
    UB40 - Red Red Wine
The Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls

I am not sure if this is the right place to put it, but I know why some artists have been dropping out of the show or taken off the website and put back on. For their second song choice there is a list that they have to pick from and the song has to be approved by a comittee in order for them to be able to sing it on the show. Some artists haven't got their second song approved or they have requested one that is not on the list and that makes in a longer process.

So that in a nutshell is why the website keeps changing.

    I think Robert Palmer died.

I'd like to see The Stray Cats, but Brian Setzer is still very successful, and way too good for this.

    UB40 would be GREAT!

You're right, Robert Palmer died in 2003.

I love many of the suggestions above, especially Men Without Hats and A-ha (I used to have the biggest crush on that guy...). Some more off the top of my head:

    Big Country
    Midnight Oil
    Tone Loc
    Rick Springfield
    Maxi Priest
It was me. I let the dogs out.
