From the official site:
In 1990, the hit single "Ice Ice Baby" and its accompanying album, To the Extreme, made Vanilla Ice the second white rapper to top the charts (the other being the Beastie Boys). This Miami-born rapper went on to have To the Extreme top the charts, spending 16 weeks at number one and selling over seven million copies. Ice began filming a feature film, Cool As Ice, in the spring of 1990, but by the time the film came out in the fall, the Ice was melting.
Vanilla Ice re-emerged in 1994 with Mind Blowing, which featured a new funk influence but was not as commercially successful as To the Extreme. That same year, after a failed suicide attempt, Ice got involved in Motocross -- a sport he continues to be involved in. Ice is currently on tour to support his new album, Platinum Underground.
