Jon had a really good edit. Good cook, good team player, no hard feelings about anything. I wanted him in the final but I think he'll make out fine. I wonder with a less outlandish hairstyle if he might have done better.
I would have liked to have seen a Jon and Janel finale. Sure, he'll be "fine" but I doubt he'll earn the equivalent salary as Janel ($250,000, per year) for a very long time, if ever.
In the end, I think Janel was the one to beat the entire season. Congrats to her!
I liked all of the last 3 but I thought JaNel was not only competent in the kitchen but had a more professional attitude. As to the dishes always ending in a tie with one last dish to go...WAY too contrived! It's insulting to the intelligence of the viewer.
Whoever said diamonds are a girls best friend...never owned a dog.
Jon wanted the world, with a ridiculous mohawk, or whatever was under that bandanna.
Mary was proud of her squeaky voice, hanging tongue, deerlight stare. Thought it was endearing somehow.
JaNel was the only one with any natural professionalism. Why don't the contestants understand that matters?
I am so glad that Ja'Nel won...she did deserve it! I was so disappointed that Dan tried to sabotage Mary. If I knew which restaurant Dan was 'head chef' at, I would boycott that place...I feel bad for his employers. He is such an idiot...no wonder no one likes him.
The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man.
Good finale and good winner.
However, this season was dragged out too long and the countless number of cliffhangers took away from the enjoyment.
Whoops. Forgot to watch. I don't feel that down about it, really.
Happy Birthday, sir, despite the circumstances.--John Green
“Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.” --J.R.R. Tolkien
I finally got around to (almost) watching the finale!
Step 1: Jon gets eliminated over Mary
Step 2: Gordon sez, "This year is the year of the ladies!"
Step 3: I feel justified in my belief (since the beginning of the season) that Ja'Nel winning was predetermined
Step 4: Skip to the end of the show to verify that Ja'Nel won
Step 5: Delete program from DVR
Step 6: Watch the first episode of Top Chef Masters
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.
Gordon is a fitness freak, as is his wife. There is no way that did not enter into his decision. It is hard to dismiss some bias when it is an integral part of your being. I pegged her as the winner early on, as well. I missed many episodes since BB has taken over my brain.
