You have to just love Zach... he appears to be just a nice guy. His reactions to the kids when they are singing last chance are so positive I have to smile when i see him. RU is also fabulous with the kids. Not as thrilled with the stoic reactions of Ryan

    Re: 7/10 Show Discussion "Fearlessness"

I'm going to reply to several points made above. Gosh, I was just thinking that I enjoy The Glee Project as much or more than I enjoy the actual show.

I have said before that I think Charlie got a raw deal. They chose him partially for his ADHD and Asperger's, and then never mentioned it again, making him look like he was simply unprofessional, immature, unfocused, etc. I am a teacher of kids like Charlie and he's a classic example of a person with those conditions who functions well in the real world, but still has difficulties with focus, social interactions, following directions, etc. He still might not have made it any further in the contest, despite his talent -- after all, they can't have an actor on Glee who does his own thing and makes up his own lyrics to songs -- but viewers may have been left with a better understanding of what it's like to try to hold a job while fighting against those mildly disabling conditions.

I also think Zach Woodlee is delightful. I especially enjoy watching his face during the Last Chance performances when the singer is doing really well. There is such delight showing on his face! Ryan seems like somewhat of a sourpuss.

I love Lily and Aylin the most. My prediction is that one of those two ladies will win. I'm a huge Nellie fan, but I don't guess she'll last much longer, because of her lack of confidence, certainly not her lack of talent. I also think Blake will be the highest finishing guy.

I thought Lily had an unlovely superior attitude at first, but she made quite a turnaround. She is very attractive and best of all, comfortable with herself and her body size. Oh, and in addition, Lily is mucho talented and can act and take direction.

Regarding the Lauren Zizes character on Glee, first I'll say I am talking about the character, not Ashley Fink the actress. Ashley Fink is attractive and when she was a guest mentor on TGP last year, she seemed perfectly nice. I think Glee decided to fly right in the face of the "fat girl" stereotype -- you know, nice and sweet, beautiful face, no confidence, likes the cool, cute popular guy and is grateful for any little bit of attention he pays her, and picked on or even bullied by others. Take the opposite of all of those things and you'll have the Lauren Z. character.

I miss Charlie already. I too feel he got a unfair shake with how he was treated. They know he has Aspergers and ADHD... what the hell did they expect? Of course he is going to be all over the place. And he was pretty much a creative genius as well. I love how he changed up the words to his song in the LCP. Oh well, Glee's loss. I am sure we'll see Charlie show up somewhere else. I think he'd be great in a band. Lead singer, he'd get to write his own songs, etc.

I really like Blake. He seems to be the most well rounded of the bunch and continues to bring it each week. Still not that impressed with Lily. She's too over the top for my liking. I think Nellie has an amazing voice, but don't think she has the presence you need to be on Glee. I like Aylin even though she seems almost too happy lol. I think she's got what it takes to be on the show though. The others are too dull to even bother a mention.

All that would have been okay if Ashley could actually sing and dance. She just wasn't not talented in that way. If Lauren was rude and a bully, but had a great singing voice, I could understand why she was there.

Blake is my favorite to win at this point. He seemed like he'd just be a pretty boy, but he's really surprised me. I don't think he's got the best singing voice, but he interacts really well with everyone in the video shoots (and is able to stand out among all of them), he dances well and his acting ability looks promising. I thought his performance with Nellie for RM a few weeks back was so good. She did a great job too, but I'm pretty sure he was the one driving all of that. I loved Zach's reaction to that performance - hand over his mouth, grinning. I love watching him every week. He has the opposite of a poker face.

Good point! I remember the first time "Lauren" sang on Glee ("I Know What the Boys Like"). I thought,"Is that the best she can do?" I was shocked, because previously when a non-singing character sang for the first time, it would be pretty darn good. (Sue Sylvester, Mike Chang, Coach Beiste) Surely there must be "big" actresses who can sing and dance.

    Re: 7/10 Show Discussion "Fearlessness"

They totally changed Mike Chang though. Remember how they made a fuss about how he couldn't sing in season 2? He sang just great last season. I thought Beiste had a pretty good - if more masculine - voice. Most of the people on that show are pretty good singers/performers. I'm still waiting for Rachel's dads to get a number. One of her fathers is played by Brian Stokes Mitchell, who is a Tony winning Broadway star. He has an incredible voice. Not so sure about Jeff Goldblum. That might be a hot mess!

I think Lily has a very good voice and I think she's very pretty too. No, she doesn't have the usual body that we see on a TV show, but I love how confident and comfortable she is with her body. If she keeps that attitude in check, I think she'd be a great role model to have on the show. It seems like, after a few weeks in a row of getting critiqued for her attitude, she may have finally taken it to heart and made an effort to change. I guess we'll have to see if that change sticks. If it does, I'd be happy to see her win.

Blake is still my pick to win. He's just pretty and he's talented. If they pick two winners, which I think they might (in spite of saying they will only pick one), I'd be happy with Blake and Lily.

I still think Ali looks too old, as does Abraham. Not really sold on Aylin yet and I'm feeling less confident about Michael's chances, since he seems to have trouble getting up to speed every week.

I like Lily OK, and (as a large woman) I love how comfortable she is with her body and the way she feels comfortable being sexy. I do think, however, that she needs to know when to turn the sexiness on and when not to. That was the feedback Cory gave her when he was there, and I think it may be an ongoing issue for her. In the Fearlessness video when she had the hose, the sexy vibe she was exuding made that scene feel just short of soft porn, which I'm pretty sure wasn't what the director was going for.

I was just going to "like" your post, but what I really want to do is "like" it about 5 times. Hate her doing that move. It's borderline disgusting.

Zach Woodlee is my favorite thing about TGP. Got my attention just cuz he's a cutie, but watching him and his reactions to the kids, you are right, you just gotta love him. Seems like a very tender-hearted guy.
