Okay, I initially had reservations about this thread... but so far everyone seems really cool, and it *has* been fascinating to finally put a face to some of the names. (Particularly in your case, John - it's nice to think of the person on the end of that post being someone other than Simon or a cow baby...)

(And BTW, does anyone else think that levi_d looks a bit like Anthony Michael Hall? In a good way...)

A fantastic movie, The Breakfast Club. And I thought AMH was quite good in it, as well as 16 Candles, and Weird Science - so it was meant as a compliment, levi_d.

Thanks, TB (and raindance, and AnnaRHR) - you all are very sweet! (I can't find the blushing smiley face guy...)

Of course, in the interests of full disclosure, I have to say that it took about an hour to make the hair look like that. Without the rollers, it's as straight as a board... so I'm constantly fighting an uphill battle against Mother Nature.

If you like it, though, I may start using it as my avatar (for a change of pace...)

Since folks are doing their kids, maybe I'll try to find one of me and the dogs (my version of kinds, since I don't have any of the two-legged variety... yet, anyway).
