Re: For animal lovers

Good luck Newfherder. I imagine a dog the size of Josey really needs to have leash manners.

It should be interesting the first time that we try to go for a walk with her wearing it. She'll have to learn to live with it--she has no leash manners, and she can't do any running around for at least a month while the heartworms break down and are removed from her system. I expect a lot of fussing and crying and whining; Josey will probably be unhappy, too.
Oh man Newfherder - I wish you had put a BEER spit warning on this post.

LOL!
I've never had a dog with heartworms before so didn't know how involved the treatment is. It's wonderful of you to take care of Josey during this rough time!

That's why I think you should just get an identical twin chair to the one you already have--I think Roxie will still want the chair no matter what, and she likes sleeping on it.
Doxie, there was a Persian kitty at the Cat Show in a little bed just like that at the Cat Show I went to--no cage necessary! The cat-mommy said as long as one of er people stayed near, the kitty would stay in the little bed and just meow to visitors--it was really cute.

Re: For animal lovers

I am dog sitting for a friend. She has 2 Staffordshire Bull Terriers who are so adorable and friendly. Well one is friendly, one is reserved. The reserved one stays hidden most of the time so I was prepared to have to hunt for her to get her out. No, she barked at me the ENTIRE time I was there, following me to bark, so I got her in the fenced back yard no problem. Complete role reversal from what I'm used too and what her "mom" told me to expect. The boy? Typical. Ran around like an idiot and wouldn't go to the bathroom.
And I had to guard the back door as they can push it open and both kept going BACK in the house when I was trying to get them to run and play and go potty.

That's an adorable bed with a not so adorable price. My husband would kill me if I spent $329 on a dog bed. But boy, would Roxie have fun chewing up all those feathers!

Mr. Doxie just about passed out when he saw me looking at the picture of that dog bed. It is cute though! Our vet suggested an "orthopedic dog bed" for our elderly JRT a few years ago. Mr. Doxie wasn't too happy about the $50 price tag on that, but we bought it. Turns out he was right - Simon chewed part of it up, still won't really sleep on it and takes every opportunity to commandeer poor Henry's beloved bed that we bought on sale at Target!

QueenB: Now that you said that, I can see why a cat would LOVE that bed. The feathers..... Birds..... I bet that kitty at the cat show had some great dreams!

MRD: Good luck with the dog-sitting. Does your crew go nuts when they smell the other dogs on you? We were at a party last weekend and the little dog there spent most of its time on my lap. Henry went bonkers went we got home. He sniffed and snorted and looked at me like I had mortally betrayed him!

Mine really hate when I cheat on them.
The two I'm dog sitting are so active that you'd think they were JRT's. Mine have never been that crazy.
