| Violet Winegarden - A very special cat lady Happy Cat Haven Some people are a real gift. Violet Winegarden is one of them. Violet is an old widow with a huge heart (for animals, she bites peoplen who aren't nice to their animals). She doesn't believe that any cat should be put down and the local vets call her once the cat's owner leaves, to come take the cat home with her. Some gentle souls in her care have the most heartbreaking stories, she loves and saves them all. She's an old lady and does this in her home. She has a lot of volunteers who work in shifts to keep the place spotless and that's important: she has over 70 cats. Send your good thoughts her way. Happy Cat Haven | |

| A quick update on my hedgehog. I took him to school where he was most sociable and entertaining. All the kids loved him and several are asking their parents for one. Kids with allergies especially who have never been able to have a personable pet are excited about the idea. I called the pet store to warn them they may get a few calls. Poor baby would normally sleep during the day, but I woke him up every class besides the morning hubbub of him being there. He obliged, unrolled, wiggled his nose around, and licked his lips. Most were expecting him to be bigger - he fits in the palm of my hand. Now I'm trying to find something besides cat food that he likes. They should ideally eat some kind of fruit or veggie, but it is hard to tell if he's eaten anything because he roots around in it. He still hasn't figured out his wheel, but then again, maybe he runs on it all night long and I don't hear it in my sleep. I haven't seen him on it. Merry Christmas everyone who celebrates it! One week from today!

| Here's a picture my son took of our chihuahua Suzy. She's wearing her little sombrero my hubby bought for her the last time we visited San Antonio.
