Re: For animal lovers

Send son to allergy doc for shots/or on great vacation; keep poor confused kitty. Crying kid will get over it and can come to visit kitty.

Re: For animal lovers

Things are still chaotic around here. Miss Celie is sticking to me like cat hair to navy blue polyester pants. She's reaching for kisses, and sitting in my lap....she must really have been shaken up. Miss Sashay is letting her share the bed during Sashay's time, but today, after I aggravated Sashay, she took one look at Miss Celie (who was minding her own business and half sleep) and ran over and started slapping the crap out of her. Jeez....the screams!!! Of course, Miss Sashay is the gurl that Miss Celie stalks, too.

Miss Chloe is fine as long as Miss Celie does not look at her. Miss Celie looks at her, and Chloe draws in breath so hard to hiss and spit that she does a loud snoring-type snort! It's too funny! At least Chloe doesn't go after her, though. I'm walking around with my Wild Wild West water pistol sidearm at all times, to aid my damsel in distress.

Saw the cat that caused her to scream when she was outside and I didn't know it. It's a cute black cat that I've not seen around in a couple of years. He/she seems to know his/her way around pretty well. Miss Celie stayed back away from the window when he was close to the house, but she got into the window after he'd left. Of course, I was in the window making all kinds of fools of myself trying to get kitty's attention.

We're slowly getting back to our normal routine. They'd better get on with working this out between them. My name is not "Mom St. Joan of Arc".

Re: For animal lovers

I'm happy to report that Henry got a clean bill of health at the "spa" today. He "only" weighed 17.6 pounds and does not have to go on a diet. He wasn't too thrilled about the nail clipping or the shots and he was one tired little long dog when he finally got home. He and his "Uncle Rick" are now passed out on the couch.

I'll echo myrosiedogs post, and I also have an image in my head of Henry and "Uncle Rick" passed out on the couch, since it does happen to me & Joseph.

Well when this happens to me, I am usually NOT the one that's the most comfy. Doggy comfort trumps human comfort in this house apparantly. No, I am NOT the boss when it comes to sleeping arrangements.

I'm not usually the boss either. This time, though, Rick and Henry were asleep on one couch and Hubby and Simon were on the other one. I had the entire bed to myself for one glorious night! Of course, as soon as our company left, Henry made a beeline for "his" electric blanket and we have barely seen him since then.

Re: For animal lovers

Further to my previous post about Lincoln, the semi-feral we've taken an interest in, I would like to report that he's coming along amazingly well. He's still howling and tearing things up in the middle of the night, but with less ferocity than he originally exhibited, and he just looooves affection, and it looks he may become the lap cat Mr. Rattus has always wanted. He's started cleaning himself up with enthusiasm so he no longer smells like a trash heap, though he can't seem to make the effort to clean his face, so he looks a bit like a Little Rascal. And after a couple of days of expressing his remaining spray (peeyew), he finally seems to have run out, to the house (and my pillows, the little pest) is starting to smell like a house again, and not a cat bordello. But best of all, he comes when we whistle, just like the original two boys do. We're trying to bond him to the house, so after we let him out for the first time yesterday, after about half an hour, we went out to the driveway, gave a whistle and after a minute, he appeared from someone's driveway down the street and trotted down the sideway to us. Yaaaay. He's now our boy.

Re: For animal lovers

By the way...referring back to something we talked about a while back...I just googled it, and female cats can and do spray, also. I think they said it's not as often or as strong as male spray. Interesting.
