| Re: For animal lovers "Cat" with the racoon tail is beautiful! Funny how people change their minds about animals when they get older. Not that this story has any bearing on your dad taking in the cat, but funny (or not, depending on how you look at it) how when I was growing up my dad didn't let us have inside dogs. Now that he's remarried, they have about six dogs living in the house . My little Smokey has been overdoing it since she got spayed and has developed a little bit of fluid around her incision. I took her in today to have them look at it and they said that's not unusual with cats who are very active after surgery and that it should subside. If it gets bigger they will drain it. She goes back on Monday to have her stitches taken out so I'll be keeping a close eye on her between now and then to make sure the "pouch" doesn't get any bigger. I've shut all the doors to the rooms while I'm gone to keep her from exploring but she is such a ball of energy that short of giving her sedatives, there's no way to keep her calm. Except at night - then she's curled up next to my head sleeping. Anyone else experience this when they had their cat spayed? I love looking at everyone's pictures. I need to get one of Smokey and post it. She's pitch black like Uncle David's Ella. Scoutmom, Smokey will sleep in one of my dog's beds when he's not in it. He has two beds and prefers one over the other. She never sleeps in the one he prefers but I'll find her in the other one. He doesn't seem to mind but then again, he can't see anymore so maybe he doesn't notice. But he's a lover, not a fighter . |

| Re: For animal lovers When Holly was alive, her and Jingles were inseperable until they got older and Jingles got really unsociable. Now Jingles is just a really cranky old lady of 19. I should give some background here though - quite a few years ago my brother & SIL called a vet that did house calls for checkups and they did not havea good grip on Jingles and when the vet stuck her for one of her shots, she took off needle and all - she was terrified - it took a while to catch her. I still to this day said that stupid vet must have been starting out or maybe wasn't even a vet yet, because I have never seen a vet who could not give a cat a shot and the cat wouldn't know until it was over. |

| Re: For animal lovers Good news. Miss Princess has finally eaten her new food. She obviously got hungry enough to eat despite her dislike for the organic food lol.
