My neighbor went to the exhibition in town and bought one of these Love2Pet 2-in1 pro de-shedder and rake brush. She let me try it out on Mr. Tootles and Gracie.

I could not believe how much fur came out of each kitty and how much they loved the brush! But they are about $45 Can. There is a special through the original site for Americans only $34 minus the S&H=$29. Since our C.Dollar is almost par with the American, I don't know why we should still pay Such a higher price.

Has anyone tried this brush too and did you find it anywhere cheaper? I want this brush. But $45 is kinda steep for me.

I saw it for $30 some-odd dollars in Petsmart and kept moving. As a rule, I think that place is overpriced, anyway. I can do better at other places buying the same items.

He's still fairly little; the litter is only still a few months old right now.

Oh my little Abby is really getting spoiled by Daddy. I have a question, how do you stop your puppy from biting? I know she is only playing, but her teeth are so sharp right now and I don't want her to end up snipping at a child. She already has drawn blood from hubby twice.

say NO in a firm voice (doesn't have to be loud) and tap her nose with your finger. (does not have to be hard, just a tap)

I've been doing that and it's not working. She thinks we are playing with her. I also watch a DVD about training your puppy and it says to look them in the eye and say OUCH in a firm loud voice. That doesn't even work.

    Re: For animal lovers

CC, I missed the pictures of your sweet Abby and she's absolutely adorable! I've used the 'shake can method' (Technique #2) here for all kinds of bad habits, and it works great. Word of caution: I learned from my first puppy to cover the can with a piece of paper, because everytime we had a can of soda, she was sure she was going to get in trouble. It works quickly because the sound surprises them and it's almost like a reflex-thing to stop whatever 'bad' thing they're doing to see what the noise is. It doesn't take much repetition.
    How to Stop Puppy Biting

    Technique #2 – shake can:

If puppy does not respond to a verbal command only, try a shake can. Get an empty and clean soda can and place about 10 pennies in it. Tape the mouth shut. When your pup starts to nip, give the verbal command and at the same time give the can a good shake or drop it next to puppy (not on him please). This will help reinforce the verbal command. As soon as he stops, praise and give him a good toy to chew.

    Re: For animal lovers

Roses, I had to look twice when I saw "tape the mouth shut"

Well, I finally found a kitty number 2 at the shelter. I'm keeping her in an unused bedroom to start with because she had a small runny nose and sneeze at the shelter, and I took her for a vet check and meds on the way home; I don't want to have two sick kitties. Also kitty has been acting like she wants to hack up a hairball since I've had her home--yuck. I'll be glad when the better food starts to take effect.
Rocky is acting kind of weird--the two cats have only been in contact once so far, accidentally, but he knows she's in there!
Until she gets well, and for the first week anyway, I'll keep the cats separated and just let them smell under the door. I put Rocky in my bedroom for a couple of hours and let her out for a while; the theory is they will gradually adjust till they meet face to face. We will see if it works.

Cat#2 is very, very sweet, but wasn't the prettiest thing in the shelter. I suspect she hasn't been eating well in there, because she's very skinny, although she's eating a lot here. Plus, she's kind of a weird looking tortoiseshell. Her orange spots have tabby stripes on them, so if you look closely, she looks kind of like one of Unk's boys came out on the losing end of a battle with a can of black spray paint.
Ok, maybe it isn't quite as bad as it sounds! And beautiful green eyes--almost chartreuse. I'll try to get a picture when I get off line, if I can peel the kitty off of me when I go in. I haven't named her yet. In the shelter she was Dutchess--doesn't fit to me, and not my favorite animal name either (sorry, any Dutchess owners out there)

L has been considering getting his niece a kitty in the future, and he really likes this one. She's much easier to understand than Rocky's Siamese-y-ness. So, I did tell him, before I get attached, if he makes up his mind, he can have this kitty for the kid, and I'll go save another one. I really like this cat, but would be willing to let her go to a just as good home. I always feel sorry for thecats no one wants when I go to the shelter, so getting another one out would be good. My house is too little for more than two or possibly three cats though.
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.
