I know who he is, how about Murl Duesing or was he just a local here in Milwaukee?

Now back to our regularly scheduled warm-and-fuzzy kitty pictures
I love snakes. I'd have gotten one years ago but, my daughter said she'd run away. haha

post away I say!

Marley, I had a cat who did the same thing! He stuck his head in the bag but when he tried to back out of the bag, one of the handles went over his head. He turned around and RAN! He didn't stop until the bag was in shreds. I still laugh over that poor little guy running down the hall like a maniac trying to get away from that bag! He definitely wouldn't have sat still for a picture!
Mrd - we always watched Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom when I was growing up! I was shocked to learn that other kids didn't watch it. I'm sure they were off watching Good Times and Welcome Back, Kotter!

Re: For animal lovers

doxie: I'm so glad your foster kitties will be find and will have good homes. Hugs to you for doing such a great job helping them on their way to a happy life .

Newf: um, mating snakes, um, ok.

Unk: I just luv seeing photos of your boys! One year already? wow.

myrosiedog: Better make sure one of the workmen don't take off with lil ol rosie-kins. They might like her so much she can ride in their big machines like a dalmation on a fire truck. Actually, that would be pretty darn cute!

Re: For animal lovers

I was a big fan of Wild Kingdom too; Marlin's sidekick, Jim, at one time lived near or was possibly born in the same town where my Grandmother lived, so he was something of a local celeb there. Poor old Jim was always getting the bitier, kickier end of the animals while Marlin got the other so he could describe the goings on. My Dad used to do a hilarious imitation of Marlin describing Jim being near drowned by a python, stomped by an elephant, or whatever.

And, thanks for the pics, newfherder--very interesting!

I remember that too and we used to comment on poor Jim getting stuck while Marlin stayed in the truck.

Well I see the other "golden" oldies do remember Wild Kingdom. I'm willing to bet the ones under 35 don't. Great show. A precurser to the Crocodile Hunter.
I'm still laughing about Jim's predicaments while Marlin's safari suit remained pristine.

Miss Kitty, I thought about asking if I could take Rosies picture with them. I wonder if they'd bring her a little orange vest and a hard hat like theirs.

Leave it to me to be out greeting the workers and serving Brownies while they pet my dog. The other neighbor has a fear of men and has barricaded herself in the house and won't come out while the workers are present. Since this is going to be a long project, I hope she has enough survival material to live on.
My husband just laughs. He says no matter where I am, I manage to meet everyone and make friends. He said I'd make friends in a bomb shelter while the world ended. Well, you'd need friends then too right?
Having dogs helps. They tend to do something that makes me have to talk to people and then, well, I've met them. It's my dogs' fault. It really is.

Re: For animal lovers

Such great news! Our little rescue kitties both found new homes today!

We took them to the vet this morning and one of the techs there immediately fell in love with the littlest one and adopted him on the spot. Then we took the other one to the rescue organization that I mentioned in an earlier post. They were just getting their mobile adoption site set up outside of Petco. We hadn't been there ten minutes when a lady and her little girl walked up and asked me about the kitten. I handed the kitten to the little girl and it was love at first sight. They adopted him on the spot and I then sat outside and held him for an hour while they went into Petco and bought him TONS of supplies - he even got a hot pink cat bed with feathers (thinking the little girl picked that out!). We helped them load up their car and waved as our little kitty went off to his new life. I was dreading today. I didn't want to give them up, but we just couldn't keep them. Now, we are extremely happy because we actually got to see who they are going to live with and know that they both got great homes!

MRD - Rosie needs a construction hat - she'd look like Bob The Builder!

Re: For animal lovers

More recalls - ROYAL CANIN
Premium Dog and Cat Food

April 19, 2007
Dear Royal Canin USA Customer,

It is with sincere regret that I inform you of a new and unfortunate development with some of our pet food products.

Although we have no confirmed cases of illness in pets, we have decided to voluntarily remove the following dry pet food products that contain rice protein concentrate due to the presence of a melamine derivative.

ROYAL CANIN SENSIBLE CHOICE® (available in pet specialty stores nationwide)

- Chicken Meal & Rice Formula Senior DRY DOG FOOD
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Puppy DRY DOG FOOD
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Adult DRY DOG FOOD
- Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Senior DRY DOG FOOD
- Rice & Catfish Meal Formula Adult DRY DOG FOOD

ROYAL CANIN VETERINARY DIET™ (available only in veterinary clinics)

- Canine Early Cardiac EC 22™
- Canine Skin Support SS21™
- Feline Hypoallergenic HP23™
- Feline Sensitivity RD

We are taking this proactive stance to voluntarily recall these products to avoid any confusion for our customers about which Royal Canin USA products are safe and which products may be affected.

Pet owners should immediately stop feeding their pets the Royal Canin USA dry pet food products listed above. Pet owners should consult with a veterinarian if they are concerned about the health of their pet. No other Royal Canin diets are affected by this recall and CONTINUE TO BE safe for pets to eat.

In addition, Royal Canin USA will no longer use any Chinese suppliers for any of our vegetable proteins.

This decision to recall some of our dry pet food products is driven by our philosophy that the “Pet Comes First”. The safety and nutritional quality of our pet food is Royal Canin USA’s top priority. Pet owners who have questions about this recall and other Royal Canin USA products should call (800) 513-0041.

On behalf of the entire Royal Canin family, our hearts go out to the pet owners and everyone in the pet community who have been affected by all of the recent recalls. We are as passionate about the health and happiness of our customers’ pets as we are of our own, so we are committed to taking the steps necessary to ensure this never happens again.

Sincerely,

Olivier Amice
President and CEO
