I have The Complete Far Side Collection, every Far Side cartoon ever done. I love Gary Larson's sense of humor.

Yes, me too. I think the best story I have was meeting some extended family I had never seen before. Someone had their dogs outside, they started barking, and said person yelled,"Stop barking, you're bugging everyone...and on and on", and my step-brother-in-law, turned to me and said, "Bla, bla, bla, bla, Ginger..." and I knew exactly which Farside cartoon he meant. Instant bonding.

Sorry I haven't been here in awhile ...
Punpkin - yes out of the can - my daughters cats wait in the kitchen at night for her to give it to them before bed. Mine won't touch it. The only thing they want out of the can is the water from a can of tuna

Uncle David - thanks for the updates. Please keep them coming .

I love Larson, too! I almost exclusively send his birthday cards to all our friends and family, and when Costco had a collector's book of his, I sat down and read it for hours laughing my fool head off. Bbnbama, I'm quite familiar with 'the looks.'

So, this afternoon Howard and Maggie were streched out in the backyard basking in the sunshine when a HUGE hawk flew over the yard and landed on the back fence. Maggie sleepily watched it, but Howard bolted upright, basically looked like this , then ran so fast through the doggie door into the house he almost knocked the door down. I'm glad I just happened to be looking out there, but I sure wish I had had the camcorder going.

    Re: For animal lovers

We're just starting a week of vacation and I have 2 kittens ready to go to their new homes with students of mine. One came last night with an older sister who had me (and was tickled to see me again). The other is going away for vacation and asked if we could keep theirs for the week. So I have a kitten to play with on my week off! Yea! My poor dog will have to be carried from room to room all week, though, because the mother cat gets all weird when the babies get mobile.
    Count your blessings!

I love it too. Have always loved a twisted since of humor.

My favorite of his is 2 campers sleeping in the woods in sleeping bags and 2 bears are standing at the edge of the camping area and one says: Yum, sandwiches!

It just cracks me up every time.

The other one I have always loved and still have cut out and yellowed on my bulletin board is from Mother Goose and Grimm. (I think. It might be Larson).

But a deer is standing on its hind feet carrying an assault rifle with a head band tied around his head. He's confronting a hunter and the bubble over his head says: "You may not remember my mother, Mr. (something), But I do" and its captioned: Bambo

    Re: For animal lovers

My turn to share a quirky animal story. Yesterday I was at my computer when I hear chirping. I go out into our front yard, and see that one of our cats caught... a chick, with its wings between her jaws. Of course, when I went to investigate, both of our dogs decided to join me... causing both cat and chick to run, with the dogs in pursuit. After a few minutes of chasing, the poor chick managed to escape under our gate - but only after I helped it out with a push.

This is what happens when you have six cats and two dogs...
