He needs a bigger tank (and tanks are expensive) so if we did sell him I'd hope the new owner would get him one. He's bored and always trying to find ways to escape. I feel bad for him.If I thought the iguana could survive outside on his own I'd let him go but I just know some cat (mine maybe!) or other animal would kill him. Plus I'm sure it gets too cold in the winter. Even though I'm in Georgia it still freezes. My son got quite a lecture for bringing home animals he can't take care of. I'd like to stick to dogs and cats only.
THere is a small barrier island near us that is OVERRUN with Iguanas and they have become a nuisance, coming up in pipes (scared one woman out of her mind when it came out of the garbage disposal opening). It started off people just letting them go when they got tired of them as pets, but they have thrived and multiplied on this island and now they are trying to figure out a way to trap them and remove them as they are causing a lot of proplems with all kinds of things.

So please don't let him go. List him in the paper or see if your area has a freecycle site: www.freecycle.org where you can advertise him.

Thanks myrosie and gabriel! I wouldn't put him out to fend for himself but I also want to make sure he goes to a good home. I'll see if either site can help me.

While I was out-of-town, my squirrels have been out and about. My Dad has now closed off their garage entrance. I've seen the mom around but am still worried about the little ones. I hope they're ok. Think I'll leave the garage door open just in case

And my sister's friend, who grew up in England, let us know about a BIG dispute going on over there. Apparently their red squirrel, only found in England is becoming extinct. The grey squirrels that also live there have a virus that kills the native red squirrels so there is a big fight as to whether they should kill the grey squirrels so the red squirrels can live. How on earth do you solve a problem like that? I think they look amazing!

The boys have started meeting me at the door now when I came home. But the little brats just unplugged my mouse.

I bet they are so adorable and funny and it sounds like they have really worked their way into your heart.

This poor, sweet girl is currently quaking in the closet from the idiots shooting illegal fireworks tonight. We sedated her, too, but she's still scared to death.

Jewelsy, I just saw your pictures, and your niece and nephew are ADORABLE.

Rose, have you tried turning up the volume on the television?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

UD, thanks for the suggestion, but yes, we've got the television blaring, windows and doors closed, although it's been a warm day, and we've been taking turns sitting in the closet with her - now that's love. It seems once she hears them, there's no consoling her. On the other hand, our other dog who is afraid of everything, could care less.

OMG, Roses, she's adorable! She reminds me of what our dog (a bearded collie mix) looked like as a puppy.

I'm about 2 miles from the big fireworks show and when the big booms started up, my one cat looked up for a minute and then went back to sleep! I don't think he's terribly concerned. Of course, this is the same cat who's afraid of the vacuum cleaner and the ice trays, so there you go
