misskitty, I had a squirrel problem last year. The leave their nests mid-morning and won't return until evening usually. Try to block their entrance while they're gone. Then mix Tabasco sauce(one part) with water (2 parts) in a squirt bottle and spray the areas where they were. I paid a small fortune for other squirrel repellants that didn't work and came across this recipe online. It worked like a charm and it won't harm the squirrels.

Oh I'm sure he's just big boned.

But he sure is a handsome guy, even if he is packing a little extra around the waist line.

Love the pictures, guys! Unk, your sweeties seem to be settling in wonderfully. Keep the pics coming!

Amanda, too funny about the cats and suitcases thing. I've been travelling quite a bit recently and whenever I've started packing my suitcase, both of my cats jump into it within two seconds and refuse to leave. Same thing when I try to unpack it. I'll make sure to take pictures next time the suitcase comes out.

You guys, you're absolutely right -- he's a porker! I adopted him full-time in March but I've been hostessing him for weekend visits since 2004. He used to live at a non-profit office across the street from where I live and the folks there walked my dogs for me.

This big guy weighed a whopping 21 lb. a year or so ago and then developed diabetes. His weight plummeted to a mere 13 lb. (quickly) and since he went on two insulin injections per day he's plumped back up to 18 lb. I've just recently reduced his food amount 'cause we think at 16 lb. would be a better weight for him.

For a big, fat, obnoxious guy he's pretty darned loveable, and he's more dog-like than cat-like.

Check out my profile pic to see how well he gets along with THE POMERANIANS.

Pommie, please! You promised you would talk about me any more.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

I just noticed Uncle David's av, and that's one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. I recognize the clothes, but can't say as I remember the face.

I just learned how to upload pictures from my camera, so here's a photo of my two buddies, Maggie (on the left) and Howard (on the right). Maggie loves to dive in the pool and get her toys, and if she sees us simply getting pool towels out, she goes into overdrive. Howard on the other hand is afraid of everything, so he wants nothing to do with it (we refer to him as Howard the Coward).

Such pretty, happy-looking dogs. The plant isn't bad, either.
