Oh wow, Critical. What a rough night you had! I sure hope today is a better day and that you never have to deal with this again.

Is anyone else following April, the pregnant giraffe?

Critical, you may want to put a plastic picnic tablecloth on top of your bed until this gets straightened out.

I'm not really following the giraffe but I see it pop up in my facebook feed.

This is the cat litter system I use https://www.tidycats.com/products/br...gn=always%20on
It's great, you switch the pee pad out once a week then the pellets once a month. Scoop the poop daily or like I do just put on some rubber gloves and pick it out, it's much easier.

karna, that looks like a very interesting system. Unfortunately tidycats doesn't seem to have anything on their website as far as what chemicals are in the pellets or the pee pads. Some litter products are toxic so I need to be careful.

I know about the giraffe because my local tv station is using it to compare the progress of one of its pregnant weather ladies. ;^)

If I was the weather lady, I'm not sure if I would be offended by that or not. Pregnant women can be a bit touchy about things like that. Heck, they can be a bit touchy about a whole lot of things. But if she finds it funny, then great.

In case anyone was wondering, it takes just over three hours to dry a large down comforter on low heat

I'm not going to cover the bed in plastic YET, but I'm definitely keeping the bedroom door closed when I'm not in there. I'll just have to be more vigilant about the box and hope that's enough. The thing is, she often just sits in a room and yowls. We jokingly say she's singing the song of her people. I thought at one time that it had to do with the state of the litter box, but she does it when the box is perfectly clean too. I think she might have a little Siamese in her because boy, is she mouthy. Everyone comments on it.

Today was definitely a LONG day. I didn't get the bed until after 3am.

I haven't watched the giraffe cam, but I'm sort of obsessed with the Southwest Florida Bald Eagle cam:

I've been watching since Harriet had two eggs. Only one hatched, and the eaglet is HUGE now! It's been fun to watch it grow and mature.

I also watch the Brooks Falls bear cam when the bears aren't hibernating!

Critical, I can't help wondering if your kitty has something medical going on. Especially since the furbundle is 16. Kitty dementia is real. Hyperthyroidism could explain some of it. She may have just been pissed, but in that case why not discuss it with her, because in her mind she might have had a perfectly reasonable basis for letting loose on you that you could only guess at and that she needs to b!tch to someone about. If you would like the name of a very good and very reasonable communicator, send me a PM.

I kept up with the eagle cam for ahwile. What did they end up doing with the 2nd egg? Did they knock it out of the nest or eat it?

Eagles are an example of a bird species where the first born often does much better. The parents start to incubate from the time the first egg is laid, so that one tends to be a larger eaglet and better able to compete. The other egg is more of a spare. So I prefer watching single eaglets nests so I don't have to worry about the runt.
