At one time I had 5 dogs, when the alpha passed away, the next in age would take the alpha position. It has been interesting to see how much more of their personality you see once they become the alpha.
He really has - but who you calling alpha?! - Jaxi is the alpha by any and all means!! I need to get video of it but she "herds" him when I come home and won't let him come to see me til she says it's time. And he sits and takes it. It's too funny. He has become much more loving to me though and I do like that but he's still a bit of a spaz and it's like ADHD - he'll give me 5 min and then, "Stop sweating me". haha!

It was funny, when we put one on him as a lark, he loved it. He didn't want us to take it off him and when we did, he pawed at us/it to put it back. It was just something we knew he wanted, like a favorite hat or something. We took off the last one b/c it was getting so ratty. It's like his "clothes"...LOL

Thanks - I think so too! He's just a big, ole, bundle of cuteness. Mike calls him a whiney baby but he's 95lbs of my baby. He could massively hurt you by jumping up and boxing with you - he stands up almost as tall as me (4ft 10in) and he's as gentle as a lamb.

Thanks everyone for letting me gush about him!

I know what you mean about Jaxi. When a female is in the mix, it's a whole different hierarchy.
Years ago, I had a male Lab, a male Setter mix and female 4lbs. Yorkie. I got the Lab and the Yorkie at the same time, the setter mix came a year later. The Yorkie ran the show and told the other two what when and where but the Lab was the alpha of the male dogs.

I didn't know there were dogs who actually liked their "people clothes". I guess because the only dog I ever tried that with hated it.

    Re: For animal lovers

My mom worked with a woman who had a pug who LOVED Halloween. She always got a costume and came to work with her owner. She had to parade all over the office, showing off her outfit. You could tell she loved it. I don't know where I heard this, but someone told me once that pugs, in particular, love dressing up and love wearing hats. They could have been pulling my leg, but the one pug I knew who dressed up loved it.

The year that dog was Richard Simmons for Halloween, I was working for the company. I just about fell out of my chair laughing when that dog came to my desk and I figured out who she was. Classic.
