    Re: For animal lovers

What a day...The day started bright and early with my inside cat buddy playing "Me First". As I went from room to room, he would run and leap over furniture, cutting in front of me to get to the next room before I did. That game ended when he ran, took a flying leap through the air, landing on the tablecloth on the small eating table in the sunroom. He and the tablecloth slid across the table and went crashing into the back of the chair on the other side. BAM! He hit the floor in a wad and took off running through the house with a table cloth wrapped around him. After calming him down, I went outside to feed and garden before it got too hot.
I staked the tomatoes and tied them up. My outdoor cats decided to help...chasing the string as I tied the tomatoes. Reaching through the tomato plants and catching the string and my hand. My yellow buddy jumped on my back, purring and kneading ...OUCH! Such painful attention.
Next, I had to put bird netting on my cherry trees. I have the netting, ball of string, scissors, ladder and my 'help' (2 dogs, 3 cats). Things go pretty good for a while, I get the netting hung, I start tying the netting with string, next thing I know I have a cat on the ladder with me, pawing at the string, a cat underneath the tree who has gotten himself (same yellow back scratcher) tangled in the netting. I get down to untangle him. Back on the ladder, reach for my ball of string and it's gone. Well Darn. Look for the cats, 2 cats lying down with half closed eyes supervising...no string. One cat in the DOG pen eating dog food while the dog stands and barks... no string...other dog lying under a shade tree gnawing on...MY Ball OF String! Grab the string and finishes tying the bird netting.
It's hot, I haven't had breakfast yet... that's got to be why I'm getting irritable...

I'm glad. So here is part II of yesterday... I came inside ate lunch, checked in at FoRT, wrote the above post and cooled off. I had a few errands to run in the afternoon, take the trash and recycling to the dump, pick up a library book, a quick stop at the grocery. I look in the mirror, I'm okay, no need to change clothes.
I run my errands, come back home, feed everybody. I'll take a shower before I cook supper.
I take my T-shirt off and...There are muddy paws prints all over the back of my shirt. All that purring and kneading I was getting earlier in the day...It was a Trick.
Yep! I had been to town with the "Kick Me" sign on the back of my shirt.

That's just what I was going to say! Good thing they can't spell "Loser" or "Kick Me"!

I cannot tell you how sick I get of giving the "Don't bite your mother!" lectures to Lola! I do understand that she could be doing a lot more damage if she wanted to, but telling her what makes me unhappy doesn't seem to move her, at all.

D.Bo with his new neckerchief. He loves wearing them. Even waits patiently while we fold and tie it on him. Love this boy!

You know PGM35, D.Bo has really blossomed. He is a handsome fellow.
At one time I had 5 dogs, when the alpha passed away, the next in age would take the alpha position. It has been interesting to see how much more of their personality you see once they become the alpha.
