I did donate a lot of her toys to the Animal Shelter gift shop. One of her doggy beds went to her groomer, who will use it for her cat. I crocheted her a beautiful bed that stayed on the love seat between hubby's place and my place. Summer would climb up on it, lay flat out on her back, and look at us as if to say, "Hey, staff members, why is no one rubbing my tummy?" I'll never be able to part with that, nor will I ever wash it.
As each day passes, we're learning to focus more on the wonderful, blessed memories of our time with her, rather than on our grief.
