Echo, how is your baby girl doing today? I'm keeping you both in my thoughts.

She's beautiful. My kitty Punkin lived to be almost 18. She died in her sleep a month before she was to turn 18.
I love people like you who give a loving home to older animals.

My Kaylee is 5, I adopted her in April. She was abused really badly in her previous home but she's very, very loved now. I think she now realizes that nobody will ever hurt her again.

I wish there were more people like you. Older animals need love too!

She is doing okay. I've been calling her my bald belly, bitty baby.

I have this thing in the pit of my stomach because I am waiting for the call from the vet ... either today or tomorrow.

One thing is that the aspiration test ... has only 60% chance of conclusive results! I am just hoping that it is something that can be managed.

I'll let you know when I know ... and thanks for asking.

    Re: For animal lovers

I met a young woman at the vet on Friday who had Two(2) cats ... Sphinx ... in a carrier. She rescued them at 3 years old ... and they are brothers!

She said she had always wanted a sphinx, since she was a teenager, and was fascinated by them and researched them ... but could never afford to buy a kitten.

So when these two became available, she took both of them!

    She said they were wonderful ... but always a little cold and so had to sleep in a thing she called a teepee which holds the heat and they stay warm. :}

I could just see a little as they peeked out of the carrier ... tan colored ... and really tiny faces.

My moms friend used to have Sphinx Cats. One of them, Mai Tai used to howl and whine until somebody (anybody) would lift up their shirt, as soon as they did, she would dive under their shirt and go to sleep. She would only sleep under a shirt.
    They are such neat cats.

I'm happy to hear that your girl is feeling well. I know how nerve wracking it can be to wait for that phone call.
Try to stay positive. I know it's hard.

Take care, you are both in my thoughts and I'm sending good vibes your way.

    Re: For animal lovers

I just got a call from the foster mom who had Kaylee before I adopted her.
They finally got the security camera footage from the shelter where Kaylee was dumped.
They knew she had been thrown over a high fence in the middle of the night as that's the only way she could have gotten into the area she was in.
My poor poor girl. It was 2 men who did it. The footage shows that it took them 6 tries to get her over the fence. Every time she would fall, she would try to run away and they would chase her to catch her, out of camera range they could hear her crying out in pain. They were shown kicking her at least 7 times. They think that's how her tooth was broken. The foster mom said there was a lot more done to her that night but I stopped her. I couldn't take hearing any more.

My poor sweet girl. It's amazing to me that she still loves people as much as she does, especially women, she loves women. She's a little timid when she first meets new people but after she sees that I'm ok with them, she's their best friend.
I don't understand how people can be so cruel. All Kaylee wants is to be loved, she loves being by my side. If she can't see or hear me she starts whining.
She never eats much or plays when I'm in the hospital.
She just wants love. She can't get enough. She needs to be petted and touched all the time, which I'm more than happy to do. I think being here is the first time she's ever been touched in a loving way and she's making up for lost time.
How can somebody look into those beautiful brown eyes and then hit or kick her?!

I just don't understand. I've been crying and loving on her ever since I got the phone call.

So sorry to come on and whine about this. I just had to get it off my chest.

I also apologize if this doesn't make sense, I had to take my full doses of my pain medicine today and my mind is a little fuzzy right now.

Unfortunately it makes total sense. :-( Thank you so much for showing Kaylee what love and security can be.
