GA, you'll know if he gets tired of it. BooBoo feels Louie's pain I've got to get Rory a buddy before too long. I am amazed at how BooBoo puts up with his CONSTANTLY thinking her tail is a toy, trying to rassle her, harrassing her from under her chair, and on and on. She actually raises her paw and plays with him some, but does growl when she's had enough, which is often--a 15 year old kitty is not a play pal for a 4 month old. Still, I feel sorry for her, not him, as she has only rarely popped him hard enough to get his attention, and he's bugging her to death.

Rory is adorable! I've got exactly the same dynamics going on here... 15 year old putting up with a new (orange) kitten. She'll play ROUGH with the kitten when she plays at all, but Amelia keeps coming back for more. Luckily she has a carpeted tree and a crinkly tunnel and toys galore to keep her occupied. And she is discovering the great outdoors a little at a time.
    Count your blessings!

queen, looking at your pictures made me laugh!! I can soooo relate to the antics. And I love the one with Rory coming up to sniff where BooBoo had been laying. That is still going on around here, and my youngest is 3 years old. My baby gurl also likes to sniff muzzles...and even what she perceives to be MY muzzle....none of the others do that, but they all tolerate it. I take that back....the alpha will not allow it, or any other kind of close contact from the baby OR the other gurls.

    queen: Those pics are priceless!

I searched youtub vid of puppies/dogs playing just so I can make sure what I'm seeing is playing. Like I said, Louie is the only dog I've ever had so I'm not sure what two dogs playing should look like. I started taking him to the puppy parks last summer, but there, they just run around chasing and sniffing each other. This is physical contact.

Sophie seems to have learned she can dive under his paws to take him out, and he goes for the head lock and pins her down. No one is yelping and from what I've read here and online, they keep going back for more, so I'm sure its ok. She got a hold of his ear, and when I yelled, Sophie! They both stopped and looked at me like "what's the problem"

The reason I got her was to keep him company since I work all day. He's four yrs old, and she's 11 weeks old, from what I've read he will teach her when enough is enough or she's playing to rough.

Its hillarious though, when she gets crated after an hour of playing and running around in the snow together, he sniff's all her toys she's played with, he'll sit in front of the crate and peek in or just lay there for a few minutes. I have put out 5 or 6 various toys out for Sophie and kept the rest separate for Louie in another area. (just because I didn't want him to think I was giving all his belongings her )

He always has to have a toy near the door to greet me with when I get home, if there isn't one there, he'll go find one and come back to me while I'm taking my coat off. Last night I noticed there was one of his toys and a bone placed in front of her crate. Its only been a week, but I'm feeling, he is coming around now, not like the first couple of days, he wasn't very happy and wanted all my attention.
