NRH, that pic of Monet reminds me how very much our 2 look alike.
Well, I went to Thanksgiving at my sister's yesterday and my old friend Raisin is giving up; at 11 she's very old for a Boxer. We think she had a stroke-she can'r walk, keep food down, or do much of anything. We gave her pain meds to let her sleep, and she will be going to the vet's for the last time today if she maked it that long; I'm afraid to call.

So sorry to hear about Raisin. What a beautiful dog!
It's sooo hard to lose these dear friends and yet, even knowing that, we do it over and over. The incredible joy that animals give us certainly outweighs the pain when it's time to say goodbye.

The day after tomorrow my daughter comes home. I'm going to talk to the guy about the kittens today. The mother is a manx, but the kittens have tails. One was very obviously sired by a Bengal and one is a black and sliver marble pattern, both females. At this point she has chosen Amelia Bedilia as a name (I'm thinking Mimi would be a good nickname).

Thanks, Gutmutter. Raisin went to sleep before I left to come home the other night, and my sister said she never woke up again. I'm comforted by the thought that at least she was not too miserable to go to sleep, but I'll miss her every time I visit.
