Thank you, PhoneGrrrl. Interesting about the baby food. Hope your Belle can come home.

I use the scissors-type and the guillotine type, both with much success. I've never known anyone who has used the Pedi Paws, but that thing creeps me out. Of course, that's probably because I can't stand to have my nails filed, nor watch you file yours. I just can't imagine a cat standing still for that! Not that they wouldn't, however.

PhoneGrrrl, I sure hope your baby begins to eat soon. I'm sure she will. I'm guessing she really wants to come home. Houses just aren't right when a key 4-legged member is missing. I'd be giving her anything she wanted then! One of my gurls adores Crunch N Munch, but she doesn't get much of it.

The baby food may not be the best food in the world for her, but my sister used to be in the business of rescuing feral cats and they'd always come out of hiding for meat-based baby food.

---I don't know about cats, but when dogs have had upset stomachs, one of the ways you can ease them back onto food is to mix pure meat baby food (lamb, if available) with rice, because it's so easy to digest. Perhaps it's the same with cats. I eventually just begin mixing it with my dog's regular food to get him back on his normal diet. I just did that a week or so ago, because he manage to suck down an enormous weed from my neighbor's yard (he pulled it through the chain link fence), swallow it whole, and bring it back up the same way. I have no how he did that, but after a little Pepto Bismol and a nap, he was right back slamming his dog dish repeatedly against the floor, because he wanted supper. He has, however, stayed away from those weeds since, so apparently he remembers that it was not a happy experience.

Wonder what made him think that was a good idea? There are times when I'd give my right arm to really know what goes on inside our critters' heads!

Dogs will, from time to time, eat grass, either because they just want to or because it helps settle their stomachs. Why he went after the weed, I have no idea. Maybe it was just a challenge.

My sister's cat once knocked herself nearly unconscious with a mouse-shaped paperweight. I'd put that up against weed-eating any day.

Maybe you should grow more weeds in your yard!

Fortunately he seems to have learned his lesson and hasn't gone near the weeds at all since, so I don't think that will be necessary.
