We didn't get to go to Petapalooza It was cold and rainy Halloween morning and we knew Henry wouldn't enjoy that! We did dress him up in his lobster costume and let him "help" answer the door for the hordes of trick-or-treaters though. Several of the littlest ones were terrified of him! We had to put Henry in the bedroom after repeated attempts to get his "claws" on the kiddies and their candy He was one worn out little lobster

I think heartworm can be contracted through a mosquito bite, so if the mosquito gets in your house it could potentially bite your cat. I've never heard of a cat getting heartworm but I guess it's possible.

Too bad you didn't get to go to Petapalooza. At least it sounds like you still had a fun Halloween. I can just see Henry going after the kids! He must have really wanted some treats

Lil Bit--Hi.

Wow--how cool!

Do you know what kind of deer that is? I can't see it well enough to tell, It resembles our mule deer here--but yours has stripes and white on its ears.

Lovely photos!

(BTW--as I try to type this my big Bombay is trying to roll over onto the keyboard so I'll pay more attention to her.)

Wind Dancer - She's a White Tailed deer. They are pretty common in this area. We have them in our yard often enough that they sometimes become pests. Last year they ate off a good portion of my newly planted garden. They're beautiful animals though, and I enjoy seeing them around so close.

Well Waldoism is NOT going well. So far, my prof has put down all my ideas. I'm trying to not make it ridiculous, but am basing it on Waldo's view of the world: there is no yesterday, there is no tomorrow, there is only today.
So far, the "prophet" Waldo hasn't helped me beyond that.
In fact right now he's barking at the microphone truck that is going around the neighborhood urging people to go vote today. Right now, I'd like to take that speaker off the top of the truck and hurl it into the woods. The guy is not only annoying, but Waldo doesn't like it and he's letting me know it.
Speak to me oh great Waldo! I need spiritual guidence.

that's like the ice cream truck that drives through the neighborhoods in back of us. for some reason the dogs howl when they hear it. It plays the same thing over and over and over and they howl, in harmony forever and ever.

you could try googling cat heartworm, it is not good if the cat gets it. They get it only after getting bit by a mosquito that has bitten a dog who has it.

There is no treatment for cats delicate systems, if you read some of this stuff it is really kind of scary. Thank God I keep my A/C on and rarely open windows. Mainly because I don't like the heat and Joey hates outside noises. (see how paranoid I am)

The ice cream truck doesn't phase him. But the loudspeaker voice is driving him nuts. GO VOTE!!! I don't know. Maybe Waldo thinks he needs to go vote.
