Cecilie is so cute, I hope she and Koji become fast friends.

I've had as many as 16 at a time (don't ask...)

First and foremost, no newcomer even entered the house before first having tests for FIV/FIL, worms, and initial vaccinations.

Usually, I'd bring the newcomer into the house in a carrier with a barred front. Set that down in the middle of the general living space and leave it closed. Let the senior cats get a whiff, stalk around it, etc.

Generally then I'd work toward opening the door and letting the newcomer come out when it was comfortable. It's best to do this in a single room usually.

I've had some be reticent at first, from both the newcomer & seniors of the house. But eventually, with just one or two exceptions, everyone eventually got along great.

    Good luck!

She even has extra toes just like he does, it seemed like fate to me. I've attached a picture of her in her new bed, and of Koji as well.

We have an appointment with our vet tomorrow and we'll see what she says on how soon we can introduce them. I've never had 2 cats that weren't litter mates before, this should be fun . Any advice from mulit-cat owners ??
Oh what a couple of cuties. Fortunately for me there was no major problem when Mona was alive and Joey got adopted. Mona had a "perch" high up that the wee one couldn't get to. She growled for about 30 days and then oh well I'll put up with the snot.

Joey never got segregated I was fortunate. but Mona did get laryngitis from growling. and I do have a couple pictures of her "tolerating" him as a little boy bless her sweet soul... but when she got older as he got older ... watch out as the third picture will tell....

I love seeing Joey as a tiny little kitty about half the size of Mona and then in your avitar SHE looks about half the size of him! The look is priceless

The size thing was so funny. This tiny little boy becomes a tall 16 pounder while Mona stays at her 9-10 pounds, but could take him down with no problems. "whack"

Yeah, Mona was there first. My 11 pound Shih Tzu is definitely the boss of my 160 pound Mastiff, which is priceless. She goes through every door first, gets treats first, etc. My pets are sad because the kids have all left for school. I found the giant dog on my son's bed which she has never done before. I've been taking her for extra walks to cheer her up, but she is still staring out the window waiting for "her people" to come home
