I took the magnetic key out. It won't turn on without it. Who would have thought? I thought I had "baby-proofed" the house. Everybody has settled back down, but they're keeping their eyes on that demon treadmill.Dez has vaporized!

I have a mental picture. Too bad you didn't get video.

Yep, except they are not that little and cute! They are both 12 pounders...so they look even more pathetic. I guess it didn't help that I laughed, did it?![]()

Any advice on scratching posts? Dez is the first cat I've had in years that is keeping front claws. I need all of the scratching post education that I can get. She's out being spayed today, and I plan to shop for her tomorrow.
Sure is quiet in this house.

I found SmartyKat Superscratcher. It is a box that lays on the floor and you sprinkle Catnip (small amount ) over the top. I also stick small treats in the holes. My cat really likes it. They have all different kinds, but I found the larger one works better for us. She can stand on it and her weight holds it down whille she scratches.Originally Posted by prhoshay;3388446;
OH you DID NOT! They hate it when we laugh.Originally Posted by prhoshay;3388314;
Prhoshay, before I got any cats, I didn't know they would be declawed ones, so I had picked upa "Big Mama Scratch-oRama" at Petco; it's made by Fat Cat and although Rocky, Zip and BooBoo were/are all declawed, thry love it--it's a sisal mat with a padded rim that contains catnip. If you do get an actual post, get a really tall (3 feet or more) one so the kitty can stretch out to full length. Lots of cats won't even check a smallet post. Most cats like the rope or sisal kind better than carpet, and they prefer you not replace it when it gets ratty looking, or at least keep part of the old covering and put it on the new post. (kitty feet leave scent marks just like the little baldish spots in front of their ears, so the post is scent marked when the cat scratches, as well as whatever else they scratch for) Don't forget to use catnip on the post, or get one with it built in.
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.
I'm making notes of these scratching "post" recommendations. 10-4 on the catnip! Luckily, I keep some in the house at all times.
Do you guys have more than 1 post?
