Thanks, guys! He is also known as Freddydoodle, doodle-riffic, and snuggs. He had a great time running around outside all Labor Day weekend but is a real mess as a result. He managed to get brambles and burrs all over his fur and somehow, even though it didn't rain, he got really muddy. I tried cleaning him up but he's beyond anything I can manage, so I think I'm going to have to send him to the professionals. He *hates* going to the groomer but at this point he really needs it!

I wish I could send Waldo to a professional. Professional groomer, professional dog trainer, professional dog shrink, you name it, he needs it!

This probably sounds really weird, but I had to hire a professional dog trainer to come to the house when I first moved in to this house last summer. We moved to the midwest from California, and Freddy had never dealt with stairs before (most houses in southern CA are ramblers, no basement). So, when we moved in here, there were stairs all over. You need to go down stairs off the deck to get to the backyard, and up and down stairs to get to the basement, garage, etc. Fred wouldn't budge for anything. He'd lie down at the top of the stairs and REFUSE to budge. I'd try and tempt him with treats and all kinds of things but he'd just cry at the top of the stairs.

So, I hired this lady who had really good reviews. She came out and said, 'I'm going to force him down the stairs, and he's probably going to try and bite me' So I said, "whatever you think" and she took poor Fred by the collar and forced him to go down the stairs. He locked up all of his legs and made horrible, horrible noises that I've never heard a dog make! I thought she broke all of his legs! I was freaking out. But he was okay, just mentally freaked out, and in less than a half an hour she had him running up and down the stairs without any issues. Ever since he's been cured of his stair issue and goes down the basement stairs and down the deck stairs to the backyard without any problems! It was crazy...
