I'm with you. I can never remember her saying anything like that either. No one can convince me that she would ever go there.....just doesn't make sense. She is not that unreasonable.

I'm tickled for her that she is able to do all that she can do.

She has made many girls in Africa( her school) and putting them through university very very happy. I only wish I could afford to something like that

I don't know why threading isn't more widespread. From what I've read, it takes "however many" hours in a class over the weekend to learn and get certified. Maybe enough people don't make enough noise about wanting the service.

I'm 60. When I turned 59 I decided it was time to stop coloring my hair, because I wanted to get used to the idea before I turned 60. It has had a very welcome side effect - I'm far more likely to get a seat on the way home on the train. Mind you, I'm probably in better shape than many of the standing youngsters, but I'm entitled to sit and read or do sudoku or just zone out, right? LOL Hubby's ok with it. He says I'm still a fox, and he was tired of people mistaking me for his daughter.

I agree that tattooing CAN look fake . . . but I've been having mine tattooed for about 10 years now, and they look very natural. My real brows are very "spotty" and I have never been able to use a brow pencil or brush to my own satisfaction. The woman who did mine said she'd often get customers ASKING for what she calls "sperm-shaped" brows, but she would refuse to do them. They're very popular among our Arizona Hispanic population for some reason, and some would leave and go somewhere else to have them done. I also had her do electrolysis on the hairs that weren't where I wanted them. I'm all about easy.

Hmmm....never heard of sperm shaped brows.

So what about the pain with electroylsis? Is it painful? Do you need multiple visits? Expensive?

Electrolysis can be expensive depending on how much you need done. You need multiple visits. It can be a little painful.

Now that I think about it, I think she called them "tadpole-shaped" . . . pretty similar. Best described as having a big round "head" at the inside corner above the eye, with very thin, high arched brows going out to the sides. Usually done VERY dark, and with little to no natural hair left in the brow.

As nennie said, it takes multiple visits, it can be expensive, and it can be painful. The lady who did mine used some type of numbing gel, but I figured out that it hurt more WITH the gel than without (for me), so I just went without it. The price will vary, depending on how heavy your brows and and how much hair they remove (time = $$$).

I always wished they did eyebrow transplants,

I was researching eyebrow arching and found some articles. According to experts, don't get the tadpole eyebrow. They said never do that. I saw some photos on line of that shape and I don't find it very attractive, though I have seen people with it.

If you have overplucked or just lost your brows, one article suggest you use one of those eyelash growth serums. I never considered that. I wonder if you would end up with long or bushy brows? lol
