    Peace techniques

When you are pained, fearful, or mad, you are not at peace? What do you to get that peace?

In yoga classes, they tell you when you can see yourself as someone else that will get rid of anger. That would work some what for me. Maybe 25% of the time. Everyone has different fears and pains.

Thinking of babies or children, or giving them gifts makes me peaceful.
    You can do it!

Taking a bath or eating chocolate helps me get at peace, LOL.

Another thing that helps me is going to online forums and ranting until I get all my bitterness out. The weird thing is, months or years after the fact, I'll go back and read my rants and find them hysterically funny! Often what seemed like a big deal at the time really amounted to nothing. Maybe I just had too much to deal with at the time or took things too seriously but it's good that later I'm able to laugh at it.

I do not love to exercise, and it isn't too hard for me to come up with an excuse to avoid it. However, I have proven to myself time and again that I am a calmer, more peaceful, and more even keeled person when I exercise regularly. Over the past summer when I got frustrated or stressed at work I made a point to fit a run into my afternoon and I always felt much better afterward. I have been slacking since it got cold, but I really need to stop being a wimp and get back to work!

If I get stressed out or just need some "me" time I jump in my truck and crank the tunes up, sing my heart out and go for a long drive....feel alot better when I come back home.

I say to myself, I don't have to think about this now. I have a choice here. I shift my focus to something that is more pleasant. If that doesn't work I distract myself with TV, the internet or a nap. If my distress is about another person, I love the quote, "no one can make me feel bad without my permission."
